Norm Peterson Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 (edited) UT basketball was on an upward trajectory. Had beaten Creighton the game before we played CU. This will have reverberations and it will be interesting to see what happens. He's one of the best coaches in CBB. Will his career survive? Should it? By the way, we have 4 common opponents with Texas this year, so what happens with them will affect our strength of schedule rating stuff. Edited December 12, 2022 by Norm Peterson Quote
Swan88 Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 The article says: Beard was arrested by police in Austin, Texas, and has been booked on a third-degree charge of "assault of a family/household member impede breath circulation," or strangulation. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 Good lord. I hope that the individual assaulted is on the road to recovery. I guess it will be interesting to see how Texas handles the situation. Quote
hskr4life Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 Holy smokes-- just finding out about this. It will be really interesting to see how UT handles this mid-season. Quote
hskr4life Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 They are supposed to have a game tonight. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 Well, since it’s Texas (the State more so than the University) it will be handled in a different fashion than most other places. Silverbacked1, HuscurAdam and BigTate 1 1 1 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 His career in Austin may be finished. However, all the facts aren’t available. Tragic for his family. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted December 12, 2022 Author Report Posted December 12, 2022 In other sad coaching news, Mike Leach is not long for this world. Massive heart attack yesterday and it sounds like they've shifted him to palliative care/hospice until he passes. This is a bummer for me. I have always enjoyed his maverick behavior. He's a classic. A national treasure. Cazzie22, HB, NUtball and 6 others 1 5 3 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted December 12, 2022 Author Report Posted December 12, 2022 This is a double hit to the Texas Tech community. These were two of their beloved former coaches. Quote

One of the news reports I read said that he was out for 15 minutes before paramedics were able to get a defibrillator to get his heart beating again. That sounds more like a heart attack than a stroke but I’m no expert. Quote

In any event I'm sure we'll know the real story soon enough. Quote
