...And joins the long list of convenient scapegoats who are offered up whenever any major investigation is initiated. Whether this sacrifice is accepted or not, the lowest rung on the ladder always seems to bear the brunt of the punishment. We should take no pleasure from this at HCC simply because we are NU fans.

Dude was caught taking cash -- he was likely guilty & kind of amazing that CU had him on "administrative leave" for over 8 months... guessing Tim Miles might feel a bit vindicated for some comments he had made & for the big victory over eastern Omaha's squad in his last attempt at one.

Seriously, though. Have you ever spent two hours next to a purple-clad K-Stater? Makes you wanna throw a chair on their head, no doubt. Still shouldn't do it, though.

Love the two comments 1) Don't worry the KU players can pay the fine. 2) KU players will still be paid while on suspension.

or something like that.😉

Yeah the biggest thing in all that is the world found out that De Souza is a little *******.

Stand over a guy guy on the ground, run like hell when going to go toe to toe with somebody, then try to hit a guy on the ground with a stool.  WOW. 😮

Not that there's any excuse for their behavior AT ALL, but I'd imagine the Kansas guys were still salty from this event earlier in the season:

But it just goes to show that poor sportsmanship is a two way street.

KU media calling that "ridiculous" on-air is also 'ridiculous' -- it goes both ways, score 110 & get big mad. lol... Maybe the Jayhawk offensive player should have just stopped dribbling.

Bill Self fights back:

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/29329604/kansas-basketball-coach-bill-self-considering-legal-action-vs-ncaa-attorney-says

"The enforcement staff's allegations are contrary to longstanding NCAA precedent and the common practice that individuals who work in grassroots basketball openly share information with both college coaches and PSAs," Tompsett wrote. "It is widely known and accepted that individuals in grassroots basketball including high school coaches, AAU coaches, shoe company representatives who operate grassroots events (including events which are sanctioned by the NCAA) and others openly share information about PSAs with college coaches, and they also openly share information about college programs and coaches with PSAs. This information sharing has been going on for decades with the NCAA's full knowledge and acceptance."

In the letter, Tompsett demanded that the NCAA take appropriate action to preserve all evidence related to the NCAA's investigation of Kansas and Self, as well as other material.

"To put it bluntly, the NCAA enforcement staff is attempting to end Mr. Self's long and very successful coaching career for conduct which all coaches engage in and which the NCAA has known for many years is commonplace and permissible," Tompsett wrote.

I get the feeling this is all gonna end in tears.

It seems to me like Bill Self and his attorneys are fully expecting to be given a ban and probably show cause as well, hence threatening litigation now.  This could end very badly for KU.

Scholarship reductions and post-season bans?  Practically of no consequence to the program.  But losing Self perhaps permanently?  That's a potential program killer.  Transitions away from long term HOF coaches don't usually go smoothly.  As Nebraska fans we've all seen that movie up close.
