PimpMario Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 Who do you want to win? We need to beat Penn St either way but it might be nice to have the 4 seed locked up so we can let it rip on Sunday. Quote
HuskerFever Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 Tough one, but I'm going with Michigan. We need to hang on to that Tier 1 win as much as possible. Without it our resume just got a little more unimpressive. My thought is we need to beat Penn State anyway, so why does it matter if Michigan wins or loses their game against them? Want as much urgency as possible due to not having a margin of error I know they did. Doesn't mean they'll win the games. The energy in the building is gonna be through the roof on Sunday, I'm not worried about urgency. They'll know what's on the line is bigger than the immediate impact of the game. Quote

Unless we win the Big Ten tournament, I don't see what benefit locking up the 4 seed ahead of the game really does for us. Beat PSU (which is a MUST for any at-large hopes) and we lock up the 4 seed anyway. If we're worried about our at-large hopes, we need Michigan to stay a Quadrant 1 win. Quote

We can debate whether or not it's a good thing to lock up the 4 seed, but you said you couldn't think of a reason. I found one someone might think of. (For the record, I'd prefer Michigan win and keep the win over them in Q1...) Edited February 21, 2018 by uneblinstu Quote
unl Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 Penn State winning and it kind of feels the committee might take the winner (I realize there is no magic number per conference. Just think both would be right on the cutoff). Plus the finalized seed. Michigan keeps a higher quality win by a smidge. I kinda want Penn State...just my opinion. Quote

I believe the game is in Happy Valley which likely means a PSU win....although, beilein teams seem to turn it on around this time. We need Mich to continue to win win win. Win the last two on their schedule and they are a sure fire tier 1 win for us. Quote

49r Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 It's senior night for Penn State. They're probably the hottest team in the country over the last month and from the looks of things they might be nearing a sellout. Unless Michigan gets just white-hot shooting I would expect a PSU win. Probably a blowout.
