2017 Transfer Tre'Shawn Thurman -> Nevada

So now that we got Duby and he is a one year guy do we offer Tre'Shawn Thurman to back up Jordy the following year or look for someone else??

Thurman may have priced himself out of the market.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but the D-1 team that takes him has 2 years of a scholarship to keep open with one year to play from a good, but not great player, coming out of a mid-major conference.

I think Thurman is a good player who could help us. That being said if the choice was between not filling a scholarship and taking him to sit for a year to play one, I really think we'd chose not filling a scholarship.

Not from what I hear. What I heard is that Tim doesn't do too much talking to any of the instate coaches, except maybe McDermott on occasion

Still unsure why he is transferring...  Is anyone really going to want to take him on.  Would of been smarter for him to play at UNO another year and graduate then become a graduate transfer.

If he played 1 more year at Omaha, his eligibility would be over with only 1 year remaining as of now.

 

What he needs to do is graduate this summer in order to grad transfer for immediate eligibility elsewhere. One year to play one year.

IIRC, I read the article in the OWH, saying he was transferring because he didn't want to play inside anymoe.  We don't have a spot if he wants to play outside.

Going to a school that made the tournament last year and will most likely win their conference and go return this year.  Playing for a coach with extensive NBA experience that's part of the Hank Egan coaching tree.  Probably a pretty good move.
