We absolutely need Doyle.  If she goes to Iowa I will be sick for a long time.

not alone on that one!

I have some anti-nausea medication left over from a surgery; saved it for moments like this.....

Yep.  The past two have been interesting as well but from a negative standpoint with all the injuries and transfers.  One thing about the future versus the past and that is we still have hope.   GBR

I am more disappointed in the fact I feel like we are going to waste Shepards skills until her Junior possible Senior year now. I felt like we were going to have a great core around her skills with what we had now and who we had coming it. I thought with Romero, Doyle, Cayton, Rachel B, and Maddie we were going to be pretty decent for the next cpl years. Could be another couple rough seasons to watch.

Nat is playing elsewhere next year. Per Sam McKeown

Here is the story.

Williams hasn't talked to Nat since April 12th out of her respect for Nat's wishes to move on.

If Nat has a change of heart at some point, the door is open but she is the one who has to walk through it.

I am going to say this though.  If we are going to run and run and run, Jess is going to have to get in better shape, she is toooo slow and her endurance is questionable.

There were times this year that she could have played better but was too tired to do so at a high level.

And jess may have to loose the better than the rest of the team as well.

The last they spoke was the day of her hiring press conference? That's only a few days before Natalie asked for a transfer. Wouldn't emotions still be running high that day?

What would it hurt if the coach kept in contact with her to see just where she stands periodically? Some kids are really shy the way it is especially in a situation like this and contacting the new staff may be very uncomfortable to them. I would think with someone of Natalie's stature, Coach Amy would at least show her some kind of interest in wanting her to continue playing here by keeping the communication between player and new coach open.

I'll be very disappointed if what these two discussed on April 12th is what the coach deemed was the final say!

I have said for years we have a lot of plodders.  Teams that gave Nebraska fits were long and quick.

We've had some players who can run.  Hounds like Vonnie Turner and Tee.  And long players who can run the floor like Cady and Page.

i'd be a bit careful here. nat may be shy, but, it wouldn't surprise me if she was very "matter of fact" with coach williams. i would bet nat was really ticked off---more than some may realize and she may have let coach williams know that. coach williams may have left the door open, but, i would be willing to bet she knew at that point no way nat was coming back.

just my quick take.

Yes, and we don't know really what was said. The door may have been left open, but Nat may have also closed the door too.

Just my guess...but kind of think she's really upset, about what she's see's as the dumping of Yori.

Posted

guess i shouldn't re-hash, but---nat may have seen it as a "dumping" although i think there is more to it. sam mckewon touched on some of it not too long after things broke.

My reference was to how Nat see's it.....not you or I or McKewon. (and I too think SOME of what he said may be posible)  Yes, it's been hashed and re-hashed on this forum what may have happened.

We'll never know the full truth.

Nat has said Yori was not at fault, and Nat referenced some being to "sensitive". ...(or whatever you's like to label it)

I understand we've had some that could get up and down the floor over the years.  I would like more :)

Whatever the case, time to move on, wish her luck (unless some how she plays us) and cheer for the girls who want to wear the N.

What makes you think Nat didn't want to wear the N?

Norm unless she was asked to leave she choose not to at this point.  Clearly at one point and time she did, that appears to have changed.  I wish her no ill will what so ever.  The coach she came to play for is gone, she had every right to find the best fit for her.  That said, what she deemed (again unless she was asked to leave) best for her is to not wear the N anymore.

That's a lot of maybes and might haves and willing to bets. Your suppositions might not be justified. How's that?

I don't think you know that. And it's not what I'm hearing.

I can tell you that a door was obviously left open for Cincore, and she's back. It may be that Nat backed the wrong horse. It might have been the case that Nat wasn't extended the same options as Cincore. I'd be willing to bet there's more to this than is being reported publicly.

That would be a third option.  As I said, IF it were that she left on her own I wish her no ill will.  We are going to miss her shooting big time this next year.
