Hey, maybe this Matthews kid from Kentucky is the "great news on a transfer" that KentuckyHusker was talking about a month or so ago?

That would be quite the coup, wouldn't it?

Kid wants to go where he can play. We're proven for providing transfers with good opportunities.

Well, let's ask. In a separate thread.

Oh, I thought this was the 2016 transfer thread. My bad.

Well you've always got to be right, don't you Norm?

I was just thinking we may get Huskerinkentucky's attention better in an appropriately titled thread if he or she is not a frequent reader like some. You know, keep that person from having to sift through pages upon pages or banter and hope he or she sees the right post.

I didn't see you'd started another thread. I thought I was getting a "take it to another thread" lecture.

I'm usually on the receiving end of the lecture not the giving end. L-E-C-T-U-R-E, lecture. Whew, spelled that one right and no autocorrection. Didn't want to pull another "stiff conception" maneuver.

What about Gill and Roby?

Isnt this kid more of a 3 than a 2. In terms of wings we have McVeigh, Roby, Gill and Palmer.... Not sure where you see the massive need?

Also, we'll have Arop next year.

(Palmer) might be 6-6 but he's certainly a 2. We have currently 2 openings for 2017-18, when non-grad transfers are eligible. A post player and a guard seem like a good fit.

Sure, I'll explain.  This is in response to Minnesota and also Dimes.

In case my reply wasn't completely clear, which i realize now it wasn't,  I also think we need another guard.

Marcus Lee, who averaged 6.4 points and 6.0 rebounds along with 59 blocks, told the school that he wants to be closer to his family, Calipari said.

"Marcus Lee informed us today that he is pulling his name out of the draft but has decided he is going to transfer to a school out west to be closer to his family," Calipari said.

"We talked it through together and discussed the team next season, which he said had no bearing on his decision. I also told him he was a semester away from graduating. With that said, he was still adamant that, after the combine experience, a year off and regrouping would be the best thing. As always I support my players and their decisions."

Marcus Lee, who ranks 20th all-time at Kentucky with 100 blocked shots, has been granted a full release by the school with no restrictions. Per NCAA transfer rules, he will have to sit out a season.

"I want to thank the University of Kentucky, the basketball staff and the Big Blue Nation for supporting me over the years," said Lee, who is from Antioch, California. "I'm sorry it took me so long to come to this decision, but I'm trying to do what's right for me and my family. I'll always think fondly of my time at Kentucky."

Nebraska is closer to California than Kentucky so we have that going for us.

"Cal guard Jordan Mathews will graduate and transfer for his final year of eligibility"

"This would clear up the scholarship math for the Bears to get Marcus Lee, but still, this is not the player the Bears would want to lose going into next season unless they expect Domingo to make a monumental leap in offensive production. Cal simply doesn't have a lot of perimeter scoring to replace Mathews, who shot 41% from three to lead the Bears."
