2024 Pre-Season

Indiana is 64-73 in the Big Ten in the last 7 years since Tom Crean and has made the NCAA Tournament just twice. And yet every year is gonna be "the year" because of the new players they bring in. However, I suppose this must be what people think of Nebraska football fans. Still, Mike Woodson still coaching there? Thought so. Edge: Nebraska3 points -

https://www.si.com/college/indiana/basketball/is-indiana-men-s-basketball-better-than-nebraska-01jb0ytzkja3 Heres this if anyone wants to read a vastly uneducated writer write about our team. "That leaves Nebraska bereft of size, with 6-10 Andrew Morgan the only expected contributor taller than 6-8" Apparently Berke and Meah are no longer on the team . Oh well, I actually enjoy them being the underdogs again2 points -

I have been mulling on whether to post a game thread for this one. But here we are for another season. Enjoy the video.1 point -

Multiple causes for sure. I will add another. I think that some middle and HS girls athletes- and probly more so their parents - decide against bb because of the physicality in today’s game. BB used to be called a non contact sport. But not any more. In some girls’ games the action under the basket is brutal. and floor fights are not all that unusual anymore. Girls can enjoy the athleticism in VB w/o getting beaten on1 point -

I'm excited as it's a basketball game. lol..but I spoke to Albert Maxey the other day and he said that he wishes Nebraska would play in some tournament or something that has meaning instead of these types of games.1 point -

I see GVSU played Toledo in an exhibition Saturday and lost 77-71. They have some pretty good guards, it sounds like. Probably a decent D-II team. https://gvsulakers.com/news/2024/10/19/mens-basketball-mens-basketball-falls-in-exhibition-game-at-toledo.aspx1 point -

I mean I definitely hope you're right, but the stats don't really say that. In his only year at Nebraska Griesel shot 44.6 / 32.3 / 68.3 In his last year at Utah Worster shot 40.9 / 27.6 / 70.5. In his 4 college seasons he never had a season better than 41.8. Best 3pt% was 32.8. But if anyone can get those numbers up, it's Fred. But Rollie also won't be taking near the volume of shots Griesel did, or probably even what he did at Utah. We have too many other options to turn to for scoring. If Rollie can average 5-6 assists per game, grab 5-6 rebounds per game, with just 1-2 turnovers per game and chip in 6-10 points efficiently, then we'll be golden.1 point -

Most since 2022-23 when we had McGowens, Banton, and Roby. However the peak was 1999-2000 when Pike, Strick, Mikki, and Lue were joined by Tony Farmer1 point -

Offensively, I think Morgan replacing Mast is a much bigger reach than Berke replacing Allick. That's more a compliment to Berke than it is a knock on Morgan. Wouldn't be surprised if he was our 3rd-ish leading scorer (and maybe lead us in rebounding). He might have an NBA future.1 point -

No, he won’t be a Boogie Coleman clone. He’ll be a much more productive bench player. Good defender, much better facilitator, no question.1 point -
