If everyone will take a slow, deep breath and reread my posts, I never said a word about either needing or being entitled to know anything about the injury. My point was that the facts about medical conditions eventually come out and it is simply better to lay them on the table when known to prevent unwarranted speculation. No one ever really wants personal information to be published for strangers to see but it does surface anyway. It was a random thought for gosh sake and we seem to be making it into a Cornhusker Watergate.

Since he has been mentioned in a couple of other threads I'm starting one just for him. He is a 6' 8" center/power forward from Norfolk High. He has had a number of non-official visits and does not hold an offer (yet?) but he is definitely on their radar. Not sure if he has been given a star rating by any recruiting services but big guys with his skill set do not come around very often in this state so he is one to keep an eye on.

So at the very least Terran will make $87K this year between Hawks and D-League. Thats not a horrible first year out of college.

From what I saw in Summer League, Terran had more highlight plays/hot streaks, but Patterson was more consistent. Anyway . . . we'll see what happens re: NBA roster news during the next few days. Monday afternoon is the deadline for teams to cut their rosters down to 15 (max). Teams may choose to carry fewer players going into the regular season so they can sign free agents if needed. His physical health is by no means your (or anyone's) business if he doesn't want it to be. Thanks for the lecture, dad. Does that also apply to other things like: Discipline? Starting lineups? Recruiting targets? Injury updates during the season? Because none of those things are "our business" if they don't want them to be. (And, yet, this is a discussion board ...) Does it apply to those things? Of course. Are we entitled to know which players are being disciplined and for what infractions? Not unless they've broken the law and it's public record. Are we entitled to know the starting lineups? Not until tipoff. Are we entitled to know our recruiting targets? Not until the kids sign the LOI (as the staff can't even mention kids' names until that point). Injury updates? Well, Jacobson is injured, and I don't think we're entitled to that specific information until he says we are. Is it nice to know these things? Sure it is. But to be upset because we don't know what his specific injury is? On what planet does that make sense? The fans knowing that information right now has no influence on how the season goes, does it? His injury certainly may influence the season, but that doesn't mean we need to know what it is right now. Shavon Shields may have knocked up his girlfriend over the summer (which could certainly affect the season), but that doesn't mean we are entitled to know that information until he wants us to know it. I am by no means suggesting this is the case; I'm just throwing out a hypothetical. So, speculate about his injury all you want, just don't be upset about not knowing what it is. It's not that hard, is it?

Quite simply Jimmy, You, nor I, nor anyone other than family and coaches are entitled to know. It serves no purpose for us to know, other than those who can't "not know everything" getting their feeling of entitlement bruised.
