I see no mention of Trevor Menke. This list is dead to me.

  2. Literally every single other person that I have heard talk about it would disagree... https://twitter.com/btnmikehall/status/522751014160453632

  3. Haven't had a chance to watch this yet. Please let me know if this was from the 14th and I will change the description. I need to fix the video player so that it keeps the right video here instead of loading the latest. Enjoy.

So, you watched the practice footage and thought Terran looked like the best player out there? Do you disagree with all the people who said they watched the video and thought Terran was having an off day? Or are you saying that, in spite of having an off day, he still looked like the best player out there? I think Terran is the best player on the team. But not in that practice. And I think I very clearly stated, a couple of times now, "Based on the practice footage ..."

  6. OK, Jimmy, now you're just talking crazy. Let's be real here. You and I both know there's no way North Carolina reaches the Final Four this year.

  8. Remind me not to watch NU's Elite Eight game with you! If we make the Elite Eight? Seriously? I'd be too busy pinching myself to worry about whether we're winning or not. I'd be like, "Ah, Walt just missed that shot ... BUT HE MISSED IT IN THE ELITE FRICKIN' EIGHT, BABY!!!" You are lying to yourself... Imagine we are alive during weekend #2 in March...you would be one of the most rabid fans on this planet. While I agree you, me and virtually everyone here would be thrilled to lose in this position (if we are making this deal today)... But if it comes to Sunday in week 2...you would be about the last person who "wouldn't even care what happened after that." Accept reality...you are a fan...and you care...a lot! No matter when or where we are...so, don't kid yourself! By this time in the tournament, you may be convinced we are going to win it all! And I may be telling you how right you are! Perhaps a better query is...Would you rather make the Elite 8 or win the B1G regular season trophy outright? Yeah,...I know...a true fan answers .....BOTH!

Because that one tool was really, really good. That's the kind of tool that will get you on the floor in games early. And Smith's tools have him in the running to get in the game at the beginning. Not trying to knock Fuller, as we need his shooting ability, but, from what I've heard of the two so far, Smith brings more to the table ATM. Granted, that could change once we get to see them play... What I said was not slight against Tarin Smith but more a reflection of the quality of our depth right now. And we're deep. BTW, from what I saw, Smith is good but I don't think he starts. Nice problem to have for a change.

  12. I noticed that the Big East has a team that's ranked. That's really nice for them. Big ol' shot in the arm for their league, probably, to see the Villanueva School is listed -- almost in the top 10! Wow! Way to go, guys. Just one spot behind that school from the Missouri Valley, Wichita State. So, good for the Big East. That's really, really neat. (Polite applause for the Big East, please.)

  13. I've watched this in bits and pieces once and then full thing through again last night. Watching this vid leaves me very optimistic about this team. Some odds and ends: Tai stands out. There's an air of self-confidence about him that we didn't see last year. And it shows in his total approach. His stroke was much better, he was making hustle plays, and his recognition of shot opportunities was several steps above where he finished last year. For instance, at one point during the 4-on-4 half court action, he was in the corner with the ball and looking to pass along the baseline but the defender dropped to stop the pass and Tai immediately recognized he had an open 3 point opportunity and he took a step back beyond the arc and drilled it. He and Benny were kind of feeding off of each other in some of the scrimmaging action. I could easily see a lineup where Tai shifts over to the off-guard and Benny takes the point. Nick Fuller can shoot. During the shooting drills where they split the guards and bigs, they ran a drill where one player dribbles baseline and kicks to a spot up shooter in the far corner and then flashes to the near wing to catch and shoot. When Fuller was spotting up in the corner, he was money. It'll be nice to add that dimension to our arsenal this year. Moses Ayegba is ripped but raw. Can't believe he spent 3 years at G'town and still looks as raw offensively as he does. Don't they teach post-up moves anymore? Footwork was terrible. Keep your balance, stay over your feet and go up strong. BUUUUT, speaking of post up moves, Walter showed something we haven't seen before. Did anyone notice? Tarin Smith has game. I think a lot of people assumed that he mustn't be very good if he's still available in the spring when we got involved with him. I think a lot of people will be surprised. Kid has good handles and can penetrate and get to the rim. Decent size and length for a point and crazy ups. Not a bad shooter but that's something he probably needs work on. Not worried about Petteway. His biggest problem was ignoring what Miles told him early in the practice: "Like the 3, love the rim." Terran makes his living on the dribble drive and he was settling for perimeter shots most of the time. My guess is that he was just trying to find his range, which was off. Knowing what we know about the kid, it probably bugged the hell out of him that his threes weren't dropping and so he kept shooting them trying to find his range. When the ball is live, he'll be back to loving the rim. His D in the 4-on-4 half-court drill showed he wasn't just phoning it in for the day.

If he were to start I'd really want to see Parker, Petteway, Shields, Rivers, Pitchford. That gives a strong blend of offense and defense to start with a lot of offensive sparks on the bench with Smith, Webster, and Fuller.
