    Tai's summer

I'm looking forward to seeing Tai play for the national team next week, will be interesting to see how he has developed since the tourney. The New Zealand team will be reasonably solid (for a NZ team), there are only a couple players missing from the squad, one being Steven Adams and another being Rueben Te Rangi who would be a pretty good college player but is in trouble with the law at the moment. The squad of 17 has several young guys in there for development (including incoming freshman at New Mexico and Virginia). There is also a 16 year old kid on the team who I believe is in the class of 2016, he is 6'9 and being recruited by some high level colleges already. South Korea aren't a great team and New Zealand should beat them pretty convincingly. Tai will likely be the 2nd or 3rd guard of the bench, but will still get solid minutes. Happy to have something to contribute again, will let you know how Tai plays.

  2. Time for Terran to introduce Hammond to his workout program like he did Tai to help him add weight and get stronger. Anyone know how many free throws the shoot a day for practice? Do they keep track of time spent or shots attempted? Whatever it is Hammond needs to spend extra time at it too. Rumor has it that they only shoot half-court shots during practice.

  4. More appropriate comparisons: Kansas -- Wichita State Illinois -- Bradley Stanford -- Saint Mary's Tennessee -- Belmont Texas A&M -- UTEP and so on. I mean, it's okay to hate on Creighton...but the "rivalry" is pretty superficial if you ask me. The schools you mentioned, cwg, are all mostly peer institutions, except Georgia and Georgia State (you sure you didn't mean Georgia Tech?), and most of them are also all in the same conference. The only thing NU and Creighton have in common are that they are in the same state and they both have the Huskers as their football team. These don't really work either. These are schools where the power conference school has had staggeringly more success than the mid major. That's not the case here. Creighton has had much more success than NU and has for a while now. I'm not sure there is a comp. Washington and Gonzaga? I don't know if they play regularly, though. Virginia and VCU? I don't know that they play often either. Despite their conferences not being peers, NU and CU are. And now that they're in conferences that are a little closer to each other, the comps on the first list could be closer to the comps on the second over the next few years.

    The Official Media Thread

Today's issue of USA TODAY lists their picks for the top five sleeper All-Americans in Bball this year and it starts with: 1. Terran Petteway, Nebraska: Simply put, this junior can score. But... to read the article: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2014/07/11/starting-five-sleeper-all-american-players-in-2014-15/12291013/

  6. A girl walks into a grocery store and asks the stock boy if he has any nuts. The guy says, "No, ma'am." She says, "Well, do you have any dates?" And he says, "Ma'am, if I don't have nuts, do you really expect me to have dates?"

    In state kids?

I've heard good things about Logan Strom. He's going to be a sophomore at Norfolk High this upcoming year. I think he's 6'8" now but I've heard he's expected to grow several more inches.

  19. Would you be disappointed if we didn't dance this year? No. Making the dance is a privilege. There are so many variables that go into making the tournament. If we end the season without even having a chance at making the dance, then I would be disappointed. What are your expectations? Many sellout games. That's the one thing that the fans can control. Is it fair to expect to dance this year? No. See first answer.
