Silverbacked1 Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 Yes that was it, really liked that because it wasn't overpowering. Still had the big letter, but let you know where the game was coming from. Also really like the Colorado court, can't believe I just said that. Ours could be corn stalks, or soy bean plants, with a couple of cows grazing in the lanes. Be the only one like it. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Ohio State, Silverbacked. Looks like the picture was taken from my seats. (The corresponding area where my seats would be at Devaney, that is.) Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Interesting design idea for UNLV's floor. That would present some interesting ... opportunities ... for the play by play guy. If someone takes a deep three pointer, for example, it won't be from "way down town." Instead, he'd point to some landmark on the floor like ... maybe the "L" on the word "Lost." Or something like that. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 One thing I'm noticing about the photos of these different arenas is not the floor design so much as how close the seats are to the playing surface. Look at the picture of Michigan's arena in the "essentials" thread for that game. Dayum! Those seats crowd the floor. Which is how I was hoping ours would be. We have way too much room, IMO, between the seats and the playing floor. Quote
PimpMario Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Personally I hate it. But I am prone to have opinions. I don't really like the outline, the N is too big. And I hate the FNB logo. Feels like CU and the Quest Clink. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Yeah, that looks very familiar. That's an old photo, though. Remember those old baskets hanging down from the ceiling? Remember against Michigan State on National TV when the one basket on the side malfunctioned and wouldn't go up all the way? Ooooooops. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 A-Fu**in'-men! We always use to joke about Cris Cresswell and his Dorothy Hamill cut throwing up shots from the "star". Keep the State outline and the "N", the script "HUSKERS" I can live without. How 'bout a couple of "Herbies" along the baselines? Quote

Remember against Michigan State on National TV when the one basket on the side malfunctioned and wouldn't go up all the way? Ooooooops. I don't even think there's a 3 pt. line on that one. I like the simplicity of it though. The only hoop malfunction I remember was the Jason Dourisseau dunk vs. Tennessee. Quote
49r Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 At least they're not bringing the basketballs back to the top of the keys. Remember that? Quote

Nighthawk Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Re making the N smaller....if they had something really cool to replace it with I'd be all in favor of removing the N altogether. I guess with me I always thought the KU court was awesome with the KU Jayhawk that fills half the court. Lol....but I strongly doubt that a giant image of Lil' Red's head would be all that intimidating. Quote
#GATA Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 a I like this look Silverbacked1 and HuskerFever 2 Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 a I like this look I'd flip it and have the main part of the floor the lighter, unstained look and the cutout of Nebraska be the slightly darker wood. I like the floor being a clean, natural maple look. No stain. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I like the floor to have a slightly different color than most other floors. It then has the possibility of providing the home team with a slight advantage. Little things can play a role in that home team advantage, and this could be one of them. Again, not a whole lot different, but just different enough. Quote
