it was cold there tonight but not nearly as cold as last friday night. We got some breaks, most notably their shot that hit the baserunner.  Rev made a great play at short that might have saved the game.

Didn't see or follow the game at all but it was good to see we held them to 2 runs and won a close game. Let's win the series tomorrow. GBR.

Feel bad for Burkamper. He comes out with good stuff and then the defense bobbles a couple balls that should have been outs and he gives up a HR. Tough break for a kid who is struggling with his stuff.

Hopefully Waldron can go deep though and get some of our good arms rested and ready for Creighton on Tuesday.

Most weekends I would say that.  However, this is a weekend we HAVE to sweep.  Northwestern has a crappy RPI.  If we want to make a regional, we have to sweep.

Actually I just saw that Chestnut and Luensmann also pitched Friday, so now I agree with you we are a little short on arms.

No.  Chestnut and Luensemann pitched last night also.  I don't think they will pitch 3 days in a row.

Some nice Erstad comments today.

Doesn't care about wins, losses, and RPI. "We just need to play a complete game"... "If we don't (can't) do that, we aren't going anywhere."

Like to see someone still wanting and expecting more out of a fringe top 25 team in a lot of polls.

I doubt it.  I haven't seen a replay, but at the time it looked like we were very lucky the ball hit the baserunner.

Pretty flat again today, we've been picked off twice already.

NW 9 hole batter was .167 with 1 RBI on the entire season, has 3 ribs already today.

If it isn't hitting with an Erstad team it's pitching....if it isn't pitching it's hitting. Going to need another big come back or the RPI number is going to take quite a hit.

We came out of this weekend with a series win, but that was bad baseball versus a pretty bad team.  This team has to get its collective mojo going.

We came out of this weekend with a series win, but that was bad baseball versus a pretty bad team. This team has to get its collective mojo going.

The team has not been playing great since the last Creighton win despite two weekend series wins. It was around this time last year the team started to really struggle and Erstad wasn't able to do anything about it. Hopefully we're not seeing the same thing going on.
