How many wins do we need to get to the CBI

Penn state made the CBI at 15-17 in 13-14.

I think it is safe to assume the NIT is out of the question.

Do anyone think we have a realistic shot at winning 7 or 8 games in conference and making a fun at the CBI?

I think it's too soon to rule us out of the NIT. It'll take a change in the direction that this ship is heading right now, but there's still time.

I mean miracles do happen but the NIT is for bubble teams and us becoming a bubble team would be a minor miracle.

Wayyy to early to rule out anything.  Just like one win doesn't make a season, one loss doesn't break one.  Still a lot of season left.

It's 12 games into a 32-game season, let's not get too far down the line on this one way or the other. Just sayin' it's WAY too soon to figure anything out for mid-March. Shoot, NU was 9-9 in '13-14 after losing in dramatic fashion. LET'S GO HUSKERS!!

Me too.  But sadly that is where we are.  I think we will have to struggle mightitly and play above what we have seen so far to make the CBI.

It's not like that early season mess that Miles turned into a NCAA tourney team was 10 years ago.

Yeah we could end up with 12 wins but we also play a favorable schedule against a not that great from top to bottom Big 10 so we could also end up with 18 wins. But yeah, might as well start some sad sack CBI thread.

By all means, point out the person who stated we should fire Miles right now.  I think most have said he should get a few more years and a chance to develop his most recent class....no?

We probably need to win 9-10 Big Ten games now to get into the NIT....I had us at 8-9 wins before the Samford debacle.  I think that's still doable considering our Big 10 schedule is not all that difficult compared to years past.

Giving Nebraska any sliver of making the post season is generous at this point. I think they have a shot but I am also a homer.

I don't think I am over reacting to say that this non conference season has been pretty dang bad and worse than any of us expected. It was objectively bad. It has certainly hurt our chances at the postseason.
