throwback Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Made that big run with Shavon & White sitting for most of it Quote
HuskerFever Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 Is it just me, or is it great that even with a very last minute/day of/Sunday afternoon they decide to stream the game and there's 300 people watching it right now. Bugeaters1 and Hooper 2 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Would be 301 if I could get to work on my iPad. Saw the first basket by Hammonds it then dropped and won't come back up. My son is watching it on his phone and keeping me posted, he says that we look pretty good. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Where can we find the box score? Quote
HuskerFever Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 Don't have player stats right now, but there's this: Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 T Nebraska 25 9 29 16 79 Eurocolegio Casvi 13 22 7 22 64 Quote
hskr4life Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 So does this count as one of those close games that Miles wanted? Quote
49r Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 So does this count as one of those close games that Miles wanted? I think dimes mentioned in the other thread that the first two should be the competitive ones. Quote
HuskerFever Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 Next up: Tuesday vs. Albacete Basket @ 1 p.m. CDT Quote
basketballjones Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 I'm not 100% sure that Morrow score is correct, but great if it is! Quote
HuskerFever Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 So does this count as one of those close games that Miles wanted? I think dimes mentioned in the other thread that the first two should be the competitive ones. Yeah, if I recall Marquette (maybe?) played a couple of these teams and scored in the 70s/80s. At least that's what I recall from a previous conversation. Quote
throwback Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Unofficial scoring (doubtful if completely accurate - at least it does add up to 79) Morrow 17 Webster 15 Shields 12 McVeigh 10 White 10 Evelyn 4 Hammond 4 Fuller 3 Parker 2 Jacobson 2 Watson 0 (but several assists) 3s made: Shields 1, McVeigh 1, White 2 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Hmm, Morrow with 17 while playing on a recently repaired wheel. Quote
throwback Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 General thoughts & a couple nitpicks: Morrow - looked great, needs to rebound with 2 hands every time, but especially considering he's still working back into shape, really really good performance, wasn't as strong offensively in 2nd half, may have worn down a bit - cuts hard to the basket, moves well without the ball, catches it well in traffic Webster - Very aggressive driving to basket, I think he missed his only 3, but was more assertive on offensive end - I think he had the first 9 pts of the 2nd half to break the tie Shields - I think he was 1 of 2 from 3, if he can get his 3-pt stroke back, he'll have a big senior year, good hands on defense tonight McVeigh - Lots of good things, has a real feel for the offensive end - had the behind the back pass to Morrow for a score in 1st half, also hit a nice fade-away in-lane jumper in 1st half where he got into defender's chest to prevent him from blocking the shot - hit a corner 3 late White - Seemed to press early, but hit a couple threes in 2nd half, bounced back well, dove out of bounds to try to save a possession Hammond - Up and down, had a great block on one end & then scored on other end - has to make the decision to pass out of double team a little sooner Evelyn - Seemed tentative on offense early, but ran floor well as game went on, threaded needle on half-court pass to Webster I think for layup - had a couple nice defensive plays with good quickness Fuller - was 0-for from 3, needs to get that outside shot to fall, had some nice hustle plays Parker - really annoyed their point guard by the end of the game, drawing a late charge, typical Benny Jacobson - didn't look comfortable offensively, missed a couple of FTs, could've been nerves, could've been the face mask Watson - great passer in half court, ran perfect pick & roll with Morrow in 1st half - a little loose with it sometimes, had one poor post feed in 1st half, but Morrow bailed him out with a good catch & score - vs pressure needs to pass more than dribble - needs some on-ball work defensively too - but there's a lot of potential there, different kind of point guard than we've had in a while Quote
ajb5856 Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Anybody know if the replays on the Periscope app can be viewed in landscape mode on say a phone or if they are just stuck in the up and down narrow view once the live feed is over? I missed the first half live so I was going to watch the replay. But the replays seem to be stuck and won't rotate. Quote

Just give it a couple minutes and the cameraman eventually gets it Quote

uneblinstu Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 Handled the press better than last year. Quote
HuskerFever Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 Handled the press better than last year. This is true. And I felt like Eurocolegio Casvi push the pace a lot more at times than we were comfortable with last year. We had a few bad plays as a result, but I feel like we handled it well overall. Quote
uneblinstu Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 This looked like a decent mid-major team, the Spanish team, that is. Lots of jumpers, some good players, but no great ones. Fair barometer for the first time these guys have ever played together in a live-game scenario. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Honestly, I couldn't discern much because the stream sucked. Really choppy. Still, I loved it, choppy stream and all. It was great seeing my Huskers playing again. Fun watching the freshmen all together on the floor the last couple of minutes. And Ed Morrow looks like he's the athlete he was billed to be. Great position rebounding from that young man. Quote

This is more about Nebraska learning how to play with each other and coming together as a team before there's anything at stake. That said, I bet this competition is better than anything the Jays faced... Quote

jimmykc Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 I have not encountered this many references to stream since my last urology appointment. Silverbacked1 and Red Don 2 Quote
