jimmykc Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Huge feature in LJS this morning on one of my favorite long time posters. I'll let someone else figure out how to make the link. Congratulations to the smartest guy on the board. Quote
basketballjones Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Could not find online... If anyone does I'd love to read the article. Please post! Quote

49r Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 LJS: Living an extraordinary life with Asperger's I’ve interviewed thousands of people during my years at the Journal Star. But no one quite like Noah Weiss. I met Noah when he was 14, a lover of game shows, weather forecasts and color-coding his school assignments. He’d already won the city spelling bee, received statewide honors on the SAT, was running his own wake-up service (he also offered a free daily weather forecast to family and teachers) and had applied -- and been turned down -- for a job as an 8-year-old proofreader at the paper in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where his family lived before coming to Lincoln. PAhusker Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 one of the funnier moments during my time in the redzone was when a kid from alabama state or a school like that was at the line and Noah started reading a problem out of a calculus book or something and of course the kid clanked it off the front rim Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Yeah for Noah. Such a big fan he has to have 2 favorite teams. Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Good for Noah! He had the whole crowd up behind him at the Jacksonville State game roaring when he took off his shoes and socks and dangled his smelly socks in front of the JSU player shooting the free throw while holding his nose. Wayne Pesek Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Noah is certainly one of a kind. I don't know him well, but have known of him since he was in approximately the 5th grade. What I appreciate most about Noah on this message board is that he has never tried to be secretive about his identity. Unlike most of us, Noah doesn't post rude, snarky, inflamatory or retaliatory remarks towards other posters. And the thoughts he shares about the team are positive. No reason for him to hide behind an anonymous screen name. Thank you, Noah, for setting an example the rest of us should try to follow. Quote
Noah121 Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Could not find online... If anyone does I'd love to read the article. Please post! I attempted to find it this morning too, and it was a 404 error until about 09:00. Glad that it got on the webpage! Obviously, though, I'm saving the hard copy of it. Thanks, Wayne, for pointing out one big point of my online identity--it is no alias. However, I was secretive about my identity when I first joined HHC back in 2005--wanted to see how long it would take for people to identify me! (My hints were certainly my screen names and my inimitable fashion of "speaking." And sometimes talking in third-person about myself ) jimmykc and hhcmatt 2 Quote
hhctony Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 So, I'm sitting at my desk reading the LJS on-line during lunch and this story about a kid with Asperger's draws my eye. I get halfway through and go, "Wait a minute." Noah, what a wonderful story. Thanks for being part of our little dungeon over here. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Very well done article. I wish more students could take lessons from Noah at the games. Noah brings the party to the game. Love the article, and good for Noah. hhcmatt 1 Quote
Norm Peterson Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Congratulations to the smartest guy on the board. Well, if you call determining the theoretical strength of materials using partial differential equations "smart" then, yeah ... I suppose. For the sake of argument. But can he do anything really cool? Like stacking and unstacking cups in less than 7 seconds? (Just kidding, Noah. Nice write-up. I actually was really surprised the first time you mentioned in a post on the old board that you have Asbergers. I mean, based on your posting, who knew?) Quote
cipsucks Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Noah, I heard a quote on the radio this morning and wrote it down. I don't believe in coincidence. Here it is: "When you go through something, that is something God has trusted you with because He wants to use it later." I know this applies to more than one person on this board...... Quote
Norm Peterson Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Like when you go through the front end of a Mercedes Benz at a stop light, God wants you to use that Mercedes Benz front end later? Quote
cipsucks Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Like when you go through the front end of a Mercedes Benz at a stop light, God wants you to use that Mercedes Benz front end later? Nah. He doesn't worry about that stuff. He created lawyers for that expressed purpose. Quote
Tallbaby21 Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 So now Noah is not only the smartest poster, but also the most famous? Bravo, Noah! Quote
Daledangdarn Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Great article. Not gonna lie Noah, I wish I could be so carefree and non-caring of those around me. You are awesome. Quote
