I'm not a master at recruiting.  If I was, maybe I could get away with a strategy of telling Biefeldt "Dude, we like you soooo much, you're our number 1B target right now.  But a weird thing happened when we hired a new assistant.  It opened up the possibility to get a 4-year player at the same spot.  We should know very soon if that's going anywhere or not.  If it doesn't, you're our man.  Can you give us a week to work on it before you commit elsewhere?"

Guessing that is how one would play it out IF they knew that plan 1A was even a legit option.

How much of Bielfeldt going to Iowa St. depends on Hoiberg still being there?

Until the Bulls either announce that they're keeping Thibodeau or until Thibodeau is fired and Hoiberg turns them down/they hire someone else, that really seems up in the air.

I think it might just be between us, Iowa St, and DePaul.

You take dickerson over bielfeldt because this  upcoming season is a rebuilding year for Miles. Its going to be tough with Dickerson or Bielfeldt. The conference is also pretty stacked for the '15-'16 season and it might get easier in '16-'17. If you take dickerson over bielfeldt, you get dickerson back for the '16-'17 season as well as:

soph. Watson

jr. Gill to replace Shields

senior White

soph. Morrow

Dickerson also has a lot more potential than bielfeldt.

Uhm what if they don't want to come here guys? ;)

VERY good possibility dontcha know :(

Yes, a very good possibility.  :(

But neither would I sell us short!

Not too long ago, say a couple of weeks - remember, all the news seemed to be 'Doom and Gloom' -  Coming off a dismal season despite high expectations, Terran declaring for the draft, Players jumping ship - Walter, Tarin, talk about who else might be unhappy, waiting for the other shoe to drop, then losing Coach Harriman out-of-the-blue, topped off with Edwards committing to Georgia, no interest (thank goodness) or visits from the likes of Harris, Maia, Grady, or Gielo.   The board was definitely taking on 'suicidal' airs.  :o

Suddenly, seemingly within a couple of weeks, the Bloom is back on the Rose!  Incoming recruits and players start receiving blushing  accolades redface.gif (even Petteway is making some noise in the combine), McVeigh signs, Evelyn commits, Transfer Gill signs, Big-man Bielfeldt visits, Highly-regarded Assistant Coach Burno is hired, Suddenly another highly-sought after recruit, Noah Dickerson does not seem outside the realm of possibility.   The sky again seems the limit! koolaid2.gif

Who in their right mind wouldn't want to become a part of this rising program. :)

I like it better this way!   nod.gif

Oh I know it is just funny that as a message board we get so caught up in all this stuff that we think we can just tell which kid what they should do and things like that.

I am just as bad it is just that we need to remember that these kids will do what they want and not what we want or think they should do, along with the coaches.;)

The whole "grad transfer within the conference" seems a bit odd as a Michigan man is visiting various rivals in the region... The truly odd part is that the Wolverines didn't have a spot left for him but all of these opponents are more than happy to host him for a role on their team in order to play his former team (possibly twice or more).

michigan probably wants to start fresh. they were almost as bad as us last year.

I think Michigan was .500 - I'm more surprised that Illinois hasn't gotten into the mix for MB. The Bielfeldt family has a building named after them on the Univ. of Illinois campus!
