Not sure how to paste tweet into this space??? Maybe you can copy above link into your browser? Anyway-- great article with quotes from Glynn about why he chose NU. Said it was down to only us and CU when he made his decision.

Man, I love reading stories about how Miles recruits.  It's going to cost you with some kids, but it attracts the type of kid you want to be part of your program.

Also, thanks bleujay for having some solid contributions.  I've personally found your outside perspective from our in-state rival to be helpful and level-headed.  Hopefully everyone can look past the name and see the same (I think most already do).

Bo seems to recruit the same way with the not promising anything but if they work hard they will be rewarded pitch. Like you said it won't work with all but the ones it does work with will usually be players that make big contributions.

You can start to see what this staff is looking to do.

I think with Glynn and Ed and the success we will have we can really put ourselves in position to recruit really good kids like this who don't get Illini offers and grab a few great players.

I'm wondering when we will see any response from bleujay or Central on this news...

It looks like his preference to play in the B1G was the deciding factor. Good pickup for NU. I wish he would have waited to make a decision until after he visited Creighton's campus. NU solidly won this recruiting battle.

There. Is that inflammatory enough for your caricature of the average CU fan?

Just the 'average doubledouche CU' fans that start an account to troll on a husker message board...

They somehow seem to rarely stop by when Nebraska gets great news like this.

So maybe that says something that I'm here seeing what you all have to say...?

Yeah, you're right. The fact that you are a Creighton basketball fan, but created an account on a Nebraska basketball fansite does say something about you...

We've had some decent and reasonable Creighton fans who post over here and I'd like to think we've treated them well in return.  I don't have any problem with Creighton fans in general; only the a-hole types who post over on their Underground (and not even all of them are a-holes.)

If he can come on here and engage in reasonable discussion sans any smack talk, I personally see no reason why he (she) shouldn't be a welcome member of the board.  JMOO.

The fans I take issue with are the ones who say oh we don't need him we are better off with who we already have.... Blah blah blah, they just refuse to respect the fact that a recruit choose Nebraska over them. I'd give Creighton credit for out recruiting us on a player that we both actively recruited.

Miles has to be at least a year ahead of schedule on his building schedule. Year 2 and already in NCAA's and attracting top 150 caliber talent. If we can bring Morrow into the fold it would be amazing (but as a child of 2 NU alums I think many of us almost expect him to come). Anything beyond that seems greedy, but at this point I wouldn't be shocked at anything Miles does.

Disagree.  We probably have 2+ more scholarships to fill for next year.  In this case, greed is good.

Some people think Glynn Watson will be a 4-year starter for Nebraska. I have also heard many people say that Tarrin Smith has a good shot at starting this season as a freshman. So with Watson and Smith battling eachother for the #1 and #2 PG spots...it will be interesting to see what Benny Parker does. Will he stick around? Will there be enough minutes to go around at the PG spot? Especially when you consider that, even though the speculation is that Webster will be moving to the SG spot, he is more than capable of playing PG for a few minutes each game, if the other guys need a breather, or are in foul trouble.

I'm not sure that Nebraska needs 3.5 PGs on the roster at this point...

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Won't this be Parker's senior year?  Or is he just a junior this year?

edit: Just checked...and he'll only be a junior this year.

Man, it seems like we've been talking about him for a lot longer than that.

Bennie is that kid who has to stay. He will work those guys everyday, wait for his turn even as a senior and will be a great leader for this team his senior year.

We will be fine, heck we thought that we were going to have two serviceable big men and could look at red shirting Hamilton and that changesd in the blink of an eye.

If you're into this, a list of teams that reportedly offered Watson:

Purdue, DePaul, Marquette, Penn State, Xavier, Iowa, Creighton, Tennessee, Maryland, West Virginia

I see Benny as an indispensable part of this team the next two years. Not so much the minutes he'll see in games but rather as someone who will help the other guards become better by having to against him in practice everyday. His defensive intensity will push their games to another level. Also I can see Benny being a valuable spark plug that Miles can insert at critical times when he needs to generate some defense and some intensity into the game.

I believe we need a wing and a big with our remaining two open schollies. I would like both to be incoming freshman...but would take one and one.

I expect the big they get to be a juco or transfer. Baptiste seems like the only one left on the board, unless theres an unknown one out there with interest. I don't see it as a bad thing because every school is looking for bigs every year and with the year we all hope happens should attract a good one next spring.

Hammond, not Hamilton right?

What is cool to see is that our depth is starting to materialize.  In the recent past, there has been a pretty significant fall off from starters to bench...OR...we simply had average talent throughout the roster.

We are now building a team that the competition is force improvement.  Wouldn't it remarkable if Mr. Petteway would happen to stick around for his senior year.  We were starting to see it last year...but Coach Miles is not building a team, he is building a program.

Completely share your sentiments here. The depth is going to be key in close games. Also to me it has been like just too much of a dream come true so far with the new guys on board. To even contemplate Terran staying for his senior year seems like a pipe dream. However with the magic that Miles is building and with Terran's inner drive to be the best that he can and Miles' proven ability to continue to develop each player every year..........I'm starting to feel like......you just never know!

We need a wing and a post. I'm guessing we will be all in on Herrard for next year and agree with Kamdy on a juco, transfer or Baptiste.

Baptiste in the 2015 class would be an excellent connection to have for Herrard in the 2016 class.
