HuskerFever Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Worth a thread of its own. Ubel, I know you're seeing this... You are certainly well respected by the Nebrasketball diehards and you have represented the University well during and after your time at Nebraska. It's always great to look back at the program and remember the athlete's we've had here at Nebraska, but it's even better when you find athletes that leave the program and continue to support it with as much passion and excitement that you do. GBR! (Read more: http://btn.com/2014/02/19/twitter-brandon-ubel-talks-huskers-miles-petteway/) REDZONEDAN, tcp and TourneyBound 3 Quote
TomEadesSucks Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Brandon is a great Husker, and better person. He'll be successful at whatever he decides to pursue. REDZONEDAN 1 Quote
tcp Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I really wish he could have redshirted so he could've been part of this this year. One of my all time favorite Huskers. REDZONEDAN and Silverbacked1 2 Quote
HuskerActuary Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Lance Jeter is another former player that still follows the program very closely. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Brandon would be in my top 10 all time favorite Huskers. Did so much with just working as hard as anybody who was at UNL. Quote
TomEadesSucks Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Hmm, I wonder if any of you are Brandon, Lance or Erick in disguise (or maybe they lurk.) Quote
HuskerFever Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 Hmm, I wonder if any of you are Brandon, Lance or Erick in disguise (or maybe they lurk.) Haha, I wish. Would be nice to get some international travel in... Maybe I'm making some wild assumptions, but there's no way (with how much he's on Twitter, talks about Husker Hoops all the time, and follows the team even at 4 a.m.) that he hasn't found his way over onto this board. Sure, we's got the "inside scoop" because he knows players on the team, but HHC is the place to go for first-hand news on Nebrasketball. I mean... even PBA officials, the athletic/marketing/et al. departments, and other key figured frequent this site. (Getting off my soapbox now) You've seen how much influence HHC has even with something simple like starting the "Husker Power" tradition during opponent introductions. Quote
jimmykc Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 OK, I'll fess up. I am Lance Jeter. Quote
jimmykc Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Just kidding, although Lance and Drake Beranek were my Facebook "friends" for quite a while. Both seemed to be fine young men. Quote
kldm64 Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I'm glad Ubel still follows the program but not sure it's fair to single him out as many former players still follow the program since their playing days. Ubel is probably just more vocal on twitter and social media about it then other former players. I would suspect that many former players still have a very vested interest in the program. It is great to hear some praise from those who came before this year. Quote
uneblinstu Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I see Dourisseau and Krenk tweet pretty consistently too. I'd imagine guys that left the program on good terms pay close attention to how things are going. Quote

Practically none of our games are at a convenient time for him in Belgium. Quote

HuskerFever Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 If I'm not mistaken, Bruce Chubick had an account when we had the old message board and chimed in on occasion. Quote

I DVR games that start at 9:00 in the morning so I don't have to "rush" around. Honestly I prefer to be about 40 minutes behind real time so I can ff past commercials and half time. Quote
