We still have to win a few more to be considered on the tournament bubble.  This one does help pad the resume.  That was just an awesome win.  To lead the entire game was just amazing

They didn't lead quite the entire game but somewhere in the neighborhood of 37 minutes which is quite impressie for a road game vs a top 10 team..  What I was impressed with was when MSU made a run to cut it to a one possession game, we had guys step up and make big shots and kept battling on d.

For Nebrasketball to seriously be considered for the tourney, we need to win out. That will leave us at 20-10. 12-6 in the conference, and, probably, a 3-4 seed in the BIG tourney. Most importantly, we would be 9-1 going into the BIG and clearly putting our bad losses well behind us.

I think it could happen.

What? We wouldn't even be close to the bubble in that situation. Would be like 6 seed territory.

We don't have to win out at all.

 

 

Agreed.  We have 6 games left plus 1-4 tourney games left.  Win 5 of those.

Kenpom has us up to 61. Now projecting us at 10-8 in conference alone in 6th.

 

That has us easily in the dance, IMO.

 

 

Sadly, I don't think it does at all. If you look at the resumes of the other bubble teams, we're low in comparison. And there's precedence for this going back to last season with Iowa. Too soft a schedule, not enough good wins, and they were bypassed by a team one place below them in the standings.

 

That will get us a look, but nothing more. We need 5 wins. We need 19 wins.

Iowa's non conference SOS last year was 212.  Ours is 111.  Iowa had 9 wins in conference.  We would have 10.  Iowa was 2-8 in true road games last year.  We would finish 2-9.  Iowa's best road win was against 164 Northwestern.  Ours is number 18 Michigan State.  You can't compare us to Iowa last year.  Every year is different.  The minimum we could do is win all our home games, but every game from here on out is winnable.

I don't think you can put a number on it. It just depends a whole lot on what everyone else does, and requires us to take care of business at the same time. Winning out at home and dropping the two remaining road games puts us at 18-12 (10-8), RPI of 50, SOS of 32 approximately. It could go either way in that scenario, depending on the other bubble worthy teams.

We can't have a letdown vs penn state. This team and the crowd must be up for it and attack. We win that game we will really be rolling. Win out and split the remaining road games I think we are in. Lose two road games need to do some work in Indy.

And WIsconsin will be a beast at home.   Matchup problems all over the court with the Badgers' size.  We can win, but no one should just mark it in the W column right now.  Will be very difficult matchup.

Who knows what it will take but if we can end up 10-8 (4-2 down the stretch here) with one of the wins being at home vs Wisconsin (another victory over a ranked team) and win at least one in the B1G tourney I would feel OK about our chances. So much depends on what other teams do so who knows? I don't think finishing 6th in the conference would mean much of anything and I could see Minnesota picked over us even after finishing behind us in the standings.

Hang on for a wild ride ... Each game left will be winnable and lose-able.

No idea we'd be talking about NCAAs at this point in the season, so this is all a bonus ... Hang onto your hats!

18 -19 wins could get us in as long as we beat Wisconsin.

I don't consider losing to iU or Illini on the road a bad loss.

We are playing well at the right time and with a big time week a 5 game win in streak would catch the country's attention big time. This just isn't the strongest ncaa field as in the past and with 18-19 wins with some big résumé wins it would be hard to get left out. Survive the trap losses to of psu, Purdue and nw are crucial.

Just can't believe we are talkin about this don't let us down boys!

for the love of god, the point I made was surely unmissable. it was a very simple statement: conference placement doesn't guarantee you placement in the tourney. Iowa was a recent *example* of that. There was no direct comparison made whatsoever, in any way, shape fashion or form. thanks for your consideration.

Yeah, good offense is fun to watch.  Unfortunately, this team doesn't play defense like Self teams usually do.
