While the dude in that picture looks like a beast, so did another Canadian big we looked at last year who went to Auburn instead and might charitably be referred to as a long-term project.  From an athleticism perspective, he seems to have more upside than the long-term project presently sitting on our bench, but I'd like to see a guy who's ready to play.  Is this that guy?  How much fire in his belly?  Is he a little bit bulldog?  From his video of him and his sister singing, he does not strike me as an alpha male but, granted, that's not much info to go on.  I just don't want to bring in a super raw kid with the idea that he could contribute immediately next year.  And I don't like the idea of swapping out one 7'1" project for another.  I wish this kid had some basketball video.

I once seen Vucetic play a scrimmage.  Offensively, he's a lot more skilled than people think.  He gets the ball relatively deep, he's pretty dang efficient.  Defensively though....he's an extreme liability.  Miles pretty much straight shoots it with us about him, his footwork on defense is just too slow right now.

I've always been told, if you take in a project, you better make sure he's not a liability defensively and you better make sure he's athletic.  Miles and the staff obviously knows 10x more about basketball than I could ever know, but that said, I think they were a little too impressed with his offensive skills that they took him thinking they could coach him up on defense.

I would argue that it needs to be the other way around.  If you have a 7'1" project who can play post defense, run the floor, and rebound, take him over the offensive counterpart.

I totally agree though, we need players who can come in and play.  If he can come in off the bench and be the Benny Parker of our defense, than I'm all for it.  If it's another Vucetic situation, than I'll pass.

I think this might have a little something to do with it as well "little brother Jordy who is playing high school ball in New England poised to be a top 10 ranked 2016 talent by summer’s end."

Thats more of a puff piece.  His brother is talented but will be more in the top 75 but still a 4 star level talent.

It stated he played for Team Canada at the Nike Global Challenge, which in its own right is a huge honor and for the Canadian or Team USA players they ALL end up being D1 players. That said they werent lying. He had 3 fouls in 7 minutes, 4 fouls in 11 minutes, and 4 fouls in 7 minutes respectively for the 3 games. If we need a hacker though we found our guy. :)

If this kid could be a decent contributer in a couple years and his brother is gonna be a top 50-75 national recruit and we think if we bring in Link, we have a good to great shot with kid brother, I am completely ok with it.
