looking back at the thread, we couldn't even get this guy to visit us despite being only an hour away.

This is from Rivals in February of 2014:

"It only took Darien Williams a little over an hour to make the drive from Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Lincoln to take in Nebraska's game against Illinois on Wednesday night, and he was definitely glad he made the trip when all was said and done.

After showing interest in the 2015 forward from Iowa Western Community College for a few months, the Huskers finally got Williams on campus for an unofficial visit. When head coach Tim Miles extended him a scholarship offer before he left, Nebraska quickly vaulted towards the top of Williams' quickly growing list of potential schools."

Yes he would be a 3 for 3 guy. A guy on the Rivals board feels he ends up at St Johns where the asst coach from ISU that recruited him just took a position at.

That seems like the most logical landing point

The recruiting ace at St. John's was an assistant aaaaat ... ?

He just left his former position with ? to take the St. John's job on Mullin's staff.  And he's producing immediate results.

I think he was at Iowa State.

Fred shoulda been paying him more.

I believe St. John's is his alma mater.  I guess everyone has a price but it would probably have taken quite a bit to sway him to stay at ISU.  Good pickup for St. Johns.  I think this kid will be a good one.
