Horrible result for us.

Disagree. If we beat Michigan, then yes, it is a bad result for us. However, there is a good chance we don't beat Michigan. In that case, a Michigan win over Indiana does nothing for us. But an Indiana win over Michigan makes our win over Indiana look better.

Simple math.  We play Indiana once and Michigan twice.  Not sure how it could even be debated.

We play Indiana twice. Second to last game of the season is in Bloomington

I was thinking the same thing.  Simple math sometimes can be more complicated than it appears.  Making this argument at least "debatable"  :)

Michigan likely played its poorest game of the BIG season at least, just couldn't make key shots, missed 2 front ends at the FT line late, and did not shoot well from 3. Plus it seemed as though Lavert wanted to try to take over the game when it got to desperation time, which seemed odd. Nice player, but I want Robinson or Stauskas with the ball late.

Bottom line, UM was due to have an off game at some point. Plus Yogi went crazy and IU just kind of grinded out the last 4 minutes.

No chance of NU sneaking up on them Wednesday. But in the BIG this season, more than one team that has had a long win streak snapped have seen losses snowball on them after that first one, ie, OSU & Illinois (to some extent) & Wisky. Hopefully that's the case here.

Whoops, not sure what in the world I was thinking.  Then I am with you.  Doesn't matter much either way, and like you said may be better since we are not likely to beat Michigan.
