I tried to move on to the PSU game but I want at least 1 more day celebrating the OSU win.

Mike Peltz had the play of the game that had me cheering the most.

Towards the end of the first half OSU had a fast break transition off a turnover and it looked like Smith wass going to foul their player going to the basket.

Peltz literally dove in front of Smith, blocking the shot but more importantly drawing the foul so that his teammate didn't get his second foul just before halftime.

It was a hustle play and it it was as heads up of a play I have seen in a while.

I think I was the only one in the arena standing and cheering loudly for that play.

Way to take the bullet for your team and teammate Peltz!

That is one of those plays that actually shows up in the STAT sheet as negative but instead it was a huge positive. It was an incredible play. I was cheering as well.

Nope, you weren't the only one.  I stood and cheered to.  I'm a big fan of hustle plays.

Pimp, as I recall, the whole arena erupted anytime anything bad happened to Craft and especially on the play.  Great hustle by Peltz.  The most amazing thing to me was that he was able to make a legitimate play on the ball so as not to get called for an intentional foul.

There were other really fantastic plays as well.  How about the one where Leslie Smith rushes down to defend a one-on-one fast break, gets in front of the guy and strips it clean on the way up, THEN has the ability to stay in bounds AND flip it off to Ray Gallegos?  That was one of the most amazing defensive sequences I've ever seen.

I was up cheering, seriously heads up play and a basketball play too... he had a lot of ball on that.  Still a foul.  Kind of play that brings a team together

Speaking of a team that is together, did you else notice that when someone made a hustle play the other fours guys were over helping their teammate up off the floor.

I did notice that. It was on a play that Shields made, maybe drawn a foul, he barely hit the floor and they were over there helping him up. I like seeing that.

I wonder if, through our Scarlet and Cream colored glasses, we see that as a "great hustle play" but others would see it as shady and dirty as the Gibbs flying suplex of Petteway earlier this season.

I still stood up and cheered when it happened!

I noticed that too.  I enjoyed seeing that last night, because I think that is a part of having good team chemistry.  I think we are finally starting to grow as a team....which will eventually lead to more wins.

I don't see it that way and I don't think any reasonable basketball fan of neither team would view those plays in the same light.  Peltz was able to get down court fast enough to make an actual play on the ball -- not even a hard foul -- that prevented an easy layup and forced Craft to get the points at the line instead.

Two things separate what Peltz did from what Gibbs did:  1) not a "hard" foul; and 2) actual play on the ball.

The two aren't even comparable in my opinion.

I would have to agree with Norm.  But I am a homer.

It did look to me like Peltz deliberately cut off Smith, but maybe that was because he thought he had a better play or because he didn't think Smith was going to actually block the shot.

I have never had a problem with fouling a shooter at the rim, but if you are going to do it DO NOT let the ball have a chance to go in.
