49r Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Still want to see the slow-motion rush-the-court that Tim Miles suggested late last season. Yes, me too. They might have to practice it, but it would be really cool if the Red Zone could pull this off at some point. NeHoops 1 Quote
nebrasketball10 Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 They were great, and I hope they are back in force like that for the rest of the year. But someday, I'd love to have our students reserve storming the floor for wins over teams with losing streaks of less than three. They were ranked 15 and were as high as what? 3rd?Beside let them have some fun, before they have to get the lawn and turn down the music. I don't want to kill off the enthusiasm. I just think storming the floor every time we beat a rated (or even a non-rated) team at home tells the nation, and more importantly recruits, that we don't expect to win here very often. Let's act like we belong in the Big Ten. I'm sure there will be differing opinions on this, but I completely agree. That said, the slow-motion rush would be awesome. Quote
Huskerbb73 Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Keep the creative free throw choreography up. Hopefully the entire arena will join in critical situations. Oh, but make sure you know the call before throwing your confetti... whoops! Give me a break, how many time has the football stadium released the balloons too early? I have released my balloons early too. It pisses my wife off every time too. Silverbacked1, HB and hhcmatt 3 Quote

BenJammin63 Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Know my son and his buddy left our seats in 322 to be on the court. So if you saw two guys leave from my section at the 1:00 mark they weren't trying to beat the traffic. Also looked for ya Ben, but you know everybody kind of looks the same in a jumping crowd. I was right next to Leslee and Walt and Shavon when they lifted him. Some security guard just two hand shoved me trying to push me down, but no way was I going down that easy!! NeHoops 1 Quote
dskurz Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Can we possibly come up with something better than "who cares you suck" for the opponent announcements? Quote

uneblinstu Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Do the ole pretent to read the newspaper gag, and when each player is introduced, start tearing up the papers into the confetti that gets thrown into the air. If the whole student section tears up the paper at the same time, it could be a cool little bit, especially since it'll be used (hopefully) shortly there after. Maybe that's a stupid idea...IDK. hskr4life Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Everyone in the student section sit and make the snoring sleeping noises... With yawns.... Or Do the husker power chant so you can't even hear them! Quote

I like this. I think they should change it up with creative ideas to seem *bored* while the other team is announced. The snoring noises are a good idea, as well. Not a fan of "who cares; you suck!" Also - what happened to the Husker Power chant (or are we still doing it and I'm losing my mind)?? It would be much more formidable with 15k people there. Quote

Husker Power chant came out a couple times during the OSU game. Quote
49r Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 I agree with doing Husker Power during the opposing player intros. That would be excellent. Just don't ever...EVER...bring back the volleyball clap stuff, please. Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Not a fan of "who cares; you suck!" This is something lifted from the Lincoln Stars, in case people are unaware. Quote
atskooc Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Not a fan of "who cares; you suck!" This is something lifted from the Lincoln Stars, in case people are unaware. We used to do that at Lincoln Northeast in the early 90's. hhcmatt 1 Quote

Just don't ever...EVER...bring back the volleyball clap stuff, please. I could not agree any more with you on this!!! It's fine for volleyball but it doesn't belong at a men's basketball game. You see people in crowd that are doing the 3 clap routine and the cheerleaders are doing it but those are your volleyball fans. We don't need that lame ass kind of greeting for the opposing team. I love when the students turn their back during opponents intro. I'm fine with the "who cares, you suck" chant during it as well as anything's better then the 3 clap routine. That is about as lame as you can get. NeHoops 1 Quote
Jadler Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 The 3-clap thing is long gone. It was only here briefly because of a student and her helicopter mother. They tore into us on multiple occasions for being classless and went on this mini-Bring Classiness Back to Nebraska thing that went over "swimmingly." I haven't seen either of them since halfway through the season last year. Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 I tried out the Pavelkatron without internet on my laptop and it seemed to cache the sounds....is the the same deal with smart phones? Since everyone has smartphones at the game anyway, would playing a clip(s) produce a loud enough sound that it could be heard? Would it just sound like crazy white noise? Would people be willing to try this? If so I could host whatever sound that is here or wherever. If it was worthwhile to do, it could probably be made into a simple, downloadable app. Quote

My tickets were $50. I would have paid $50 for the Wisconsin game alone. People still probably won't show up for the western Illinois teams. They are just pay the 50 for the main conference games. Basketball tickets are still like 30 bucks cheaper than the volleyball tickets. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 Hopefully this means the red zone will be full and loud next year. Quote
uneblinstu Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 Hopefully this means the red zone will be full and loud next year. I'm sure it will be for conference games and Creighton. We'll have to see how the rest of the non-conf. shakes out. Good to see the interest is way up, though. Should be a fun season! Quote
kldm64 Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 It was sold out last year as well. I would expect the number of students to be about the same as last year. I hope I'm wrong and they fill the entire student section for every game but probably won't happen. Quote
