Lots of great things last night but the best to me: We played a solid game, but it didn't take anywhere near a perfect game to beat a Top 20 team.

It didn't take 15 3s, it didn't take a miracle half-court shot, it didn't take a bunch of home cookin' from the officials, it didn't take one player going off for 30+. And we survived one of our worst turnover games of the season (17), survived less than 20% 3-pt shooting, survived a 10-minute trainwreck in the 2nd half, survived our only senior scoring 2 pts, survived Pitch having an off night shooting 3s, and still won without having to really sweat out the final minute.

That's a good sign and should be a significant confidence-builder for the team.

Very good points.  In retrospect, we played a fairly pedestrian game, yet still won.  If/when we really put it together, we could create a bit of chaos going down the stretch.

We could have played better....but to shoot 50% against arguably the best defense in the country is pretty impressive IMO.

Completely agree - we did a great job of getting to the rim and finishing - and the number of times I thought we took a horrible shot early in the shot clock were minimal. Honestly I'm not sure I can remember one. Even though we didn't hit many 3s, we seemed to shoot the majority of them in rhythm.

I also really liked the way the guys seemed to interact with each other better - like on the timeout after the Smith steal & layup, or when someone crashed to the floor everyone was over quickly to help them up, or on interactions after after FTs, etc. NU's players and coaches obviously did a great job addressing some of their deficiencies during the off week.

Perfect game from a coaching point of view  - NU won the game & did a lot of good things & showed improvement in a variety of areas, but there were also enough areas in which they can continue to improve that the coaches will have plenty to pick over in the film study. Best of both worlds for the coaches. ;)

I never knew Petteway was a sophomore.

Hell, yes. That's the best part about him.

My outlook on him is a lot brighter.

Hopefully Miles can continue to coach him.

Last night at the start of the second half he turned the ball over twice in a minute, got pulled.  He came back in pretty quickly and turned it over again.

It Petteway can work on his turnovers, his attitude when things don't go his way, and improve his 3 point shot he could be really special by his senior year.

Substitute "Biggs" for "Petteway" and you've covered two of 'em.

Congrats on getting the big win Huskers!

I didn't get to watch the game but I was up at 6am on January 4th to watch OSU beat Nebraska by 31, the revenge tastes sweet.  :D

And many here feel the Tai had his best game of the year.

He is growing up right before our eyes.

You can see his confidence level has shot way up for whatever reason.  It's good to see.

Postmortem from the Ohio State SB Nation blog:

Ohio State-Nebraska final score: Bucks lose 4th straight, 68-62

"Since joining the Big Ten three years ago, Nebraska hadn't beaten Ohio State in their six previous matchups, including losing a 84-53 decision in Columbus just 16 days ago. All those streaks came to an end with a 68-62 victory for Nebraska over the Buckeyes. Not only did the Nebraska victory give fans an opportunity to storm the court, but it also sent Ohio State into a deeper tailspin. The Buckeyes have now lost four straight games for the first time since the 2007-08 season, and are digging themselves an even bigger hole in the deep Big Ten Conference."

That photo of Parker and Craft in #13 shows how Craft has been able to get all those steels over the years.  Hey, that's not a reach-in foul.  That's just good defense.  And, speaking of photo #13, is that Jake Muhleisen in the background underneath Craft's dangling armpit hair?

I would say you are correct Norm. Or at least the guy is as close to looking like Jake as one can be.

Yes, it was Jake. Barrett Ruud was two seats to his left.
