Miles ahead of the rest Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 In Louisville's first game, Agau played 1 minute with no stat line. I know it's way too early to make any judgements but he may be regretting his decision at some point. Quote
HF_ Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Guy would be starting or first off bench here. I'm sure he will have an impact at some point in his career there, but I think he also missed out on being part of something special here. hhcmatt 1 Quote

REDZONEDAN Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 I think he made a mistake but that is just my opinion. Quote

tcp Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 i'm sure agau understood that was the price to pay to go to a top program. in the meantime, he can watch us rise up from a distance. Quote
HuskerFever Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 I wonder if he watched the FCGU game. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 i'm sure agau understood that was the price to pay to go to a top program. in the meantime, he can watch us rise up from a distance. I suspect his ego had him imagining he'd be THE MAN hitting the game winning shot for another Louisville National Championship. Would you rather be a big fish in a little pond or a big fish in a huge pond with a national championship ring? Akoy, I suspect, thought he was choosing the latter. Quote
royalfan Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Would I have loved to grab him? Yes. Is he a bit overrated from what I saw of him? Yes. Norm Peterson and NeeandMe 2 Quote
Cybrrmonky Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 doubt the door is closed on a transfer if his minutes are limited. if he doesn't get minutes this year he never will b/c Louisville doesn't recruit guys to develop them. Quote
a0t0w0 Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 ESPN was playing a quick segment of a Louisville practice and all I heard was Slick Rick saying something along the lines of,"He's so lost right now he might as well be back in Nebraska!" Quote
hhcmatt Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Half of this thread is about the sourest grapes I've seen in a while. Louisville started 0 freshmen. If he's not getting minutes by the end of the year he will be next year. If he's not by next year, Rick Pitino did us a favor. tcp 1 Quote
The Coach Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Other big-man recruits we missed out on: Sai Tummala (ASU) - 4 min, 0 pts, 0 rebs, 1 steal Matt Atewe (AUB) - did not play (foot injury) Vitto Brown (WISC) - did not play Zach Hanson (CREI) - 11 min, 9 pts, 2 rebs Quote
Swan88 Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 The primary issue in the subject of this thread is this: with today's free agency in college basketball, what are the odds (if any) that Akoy transfers to Lincoln any time soon? Quote

bobcat402 Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Sai not being here still hurts...(fresh wounds).......(Kent Pavelka voice) 30 seconds left, Nebraska down by 1, Webster drives to his left, Sai with the back-cut, Tai throws the ball up..SAI THROWS DOWN THE DUNK GOOOTTTTTT ITTTTTTT!!!!.....sorry went off into a day dream. Sai is the only one i regret not getting, Agau had high aspirations, now he must step up his talent level to compete, i think he will get more minutes, and i hope he makes the state of Nebraska proud. Cybrrmonky Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 some very good players get lost at the end of the bench of basketball factories. Take for example Pitchford. He was a limited contributor @ Florida & he's going to score a ton of points for us. We need an athletic big. It would be a gift if Petino doesn't play him much this year b/c he very well could find his way back to Lincoln (esp if we have a decent year). Facts are Louisville has guys ready for the NBA on their roster & will keep recruiting guys like that. Agau just isn't at that level yet. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 Something must have happened with Sai. I had read that he was a projected starter and then he only got 4 minutes. I wonder if his elbow made inadvertent contact with someone else's head and he got a flagrant 2 foul (or whatever they call it) or something. Doesn't make sense. Read an article where he was among team leaders in scoring on their trip to China. Quote
The Coach Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Louisville beats Hofstra 97-69.....I don't see Agau's name in the Box Score anywhere.......11 Cardinal players saw playing time, doesn't look like he was one of them. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 They burned his redshirt, though. He's apparently saving it for a transfer year. Quote

meerkat68901 Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 A little off topic, but I was watching Indiana play last night and recognized a name, Troy Williams, from the Oak Hill team that lost to Omaha Central last year in GI. After some quick research, I found out that four members of that Oak Hill team started for high major programs over the weekend-Troy Williams-Indiana, Nate Britt-UNC, Ike Iroegbu-Washington State, and Sindarius Thornwell-South Carolina. First, that makes Central's win that much more impressive. Second, I felt like Agau was the best player on the court that night. Playing in front of the home crowd may have had something to do with it, but it surprises me that those Oak Hill guys are getting so much early time while Agau sits, albeit for a better team. Anybody else go that Heartland Hoops Classic last year? Quote
schestev Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Yeah I went, and I agree with your assessment. It was an amazing best hs bball game I've ever been too. Loved it. I wasn't overly impressed with Britt, thought central guards were just as good personally. Quote
