Yeah, I'm going to be in Michigan... Wish I could be in both places.

I feel like we need to create awareness of this situation. With the arena being sold out, we need that building packed for the first game, especially with the espn audience. Maybe this is a thing of the past and I shouldn't be worried about it. But, I have a feeling that some good numbers of Husker fans are heading out to Michigan for that game. Some of them heading out there probably also have new arena tickets. Now nobody on this board was probably doing this, but in the past if you had basketball tickets and a conflict arose it was no big deal. Those tickets were usually wasted and it was "I'll just try to make the next game." Now that there's demand for those tickets, there's no excuse for not finding a good home for them if you are not able to go. I hope there is some sort of culture change that is hitting a majority of the casual fans as well. You have to remember that over half of that sold out arena is filled with casual fans until we start winning. Without any games being played in the new place yet its hard to tell if its same old, same old basketball is 2nd fiddle with some of the "I just got seats because of the new arena" fans. A scenario where there are very many empty seats for that first game is hard to imagine. But I can also see quite a few basketball "fans" heading out to Michigan spacing off the first Nebrasketball game and leaving the tickets to rot at home.

I was just informed that I have a meeting on the other side of the state on the Friday of the first historic home game at the new arena.

I hear there is a jet for sale that you might be able to buy.

I posted it to twitter that I was disappointed I would miss the game.  Had someone claim them w/in 5 minutes.  Mine aren't going unused.

The game will be sold out and the attendance should be up there.

Even the people who might buy them for a handful of games are going to show up for this one.

So does anyone know the process for season tickets?   I had them last year and got a letter where my seats would be this year but no follow up or nothing stating I had to call to pay.  So am I out of luck now or are those seats still saved?  If they are still saved how can they call it a sellout if people haven't paid?  Anyone have any other info

I agree this is a game people will want to show up to. However, are we still going to have a contingency of casual, football donors that get basketball seats just cuz? The ones that have gotten their B-level seats at devaney over the years and let the tickets rot for every game except the two big ones. I originally thought the basketball-specific donations would weed these people out and put the true basketball fans in front of the action. But all of those empty B-section people got the same chance to have their same tickets by paying a small donation. If those people were paying thousands to donate for football tickets why wouldn't they just chip in another 100 or 250 or whatever their donation level was to retain their basketball tickets? I hate to generalize because I know there are football donors that love their Husker basketball as well, but I know there were a large number of people who let their tickets rot quite a bit. It's going to take some winning before those people are converted to full-time fans despite the newness of the arena.

Well...if I remember correctly they sent out a letter stating where your comparable seats would be in the new arena. You had to send that form back in saying whether you wanted those seats or if you wanted to give those seats up and try for an upgrade or downgrade. Once they collected all of the requests, they took 9 years to sort out where everybody was going to sit and you got another letter stating your seat assignments. If those seats required a donation, it was due by March 1 or April 1, I believe. If your seats required no donation you were good to go. At this point we are just waiting for ticket billing to be sent out. From years past I think that was always in August or maybe September when those were sent out. The the tickets come in October. I hope you find your answer somewhere in my rambling.

So after rereading your question it depends on if the letter you're talking about receiving was the final seat assignment or the first letter which you would've had to respond to letting them know you wanted to keep your seats.

It was from December...I'm in the 300's so no donation, it just says if I want to upgrade to call but no information on buying.  So if I still have them does this mean they are stating it's a sellout based on the fact if I renew?  If so I'm sure there are people who won't renew right?

I'm sort of confused. If you had seats last year you were sent a carbon copy yellow/pink/white form that had a comparable seat location in the new arena. One option on that form was to just accept those same seats. Another option was to decline those seats and try for others. If you checked the yes I want the same seats box, then you skipped the next several months of the process. For several months they looked at requests and donation levels and assigned all o the seats. They then sent out the final assignment letters in December just like you indicated. Those are your seats and you will be billed for them this fall. There's no renewing, you had already indicated that you wanted to renew, that's how you got the letter in December. There's no choosing not to buy the tickets although one could just not pay by the deadline and then they would just give away the seats to people on the wait list. After the assignment of tickets to old season ticket holders and then others on a wait list, online purchasing of tickets was done until they were all gone. I believe those online purchasers just had to put down a 25 dollar deposit with the rest being due when they bill out this fall. That's how they are saying it is sold out. All tickets are spoken for and if they are not purchased by those first people, plenty remain on the wait list.

This is one of those times where I wish I knew how to (find and) post gifs.

I'm hoping major portions of the crowd choose to hang out at Barry's after most games instead of feeling like they have to leave the PBA early in droves to beat the traffic.

I'm hoping even more that major portions of the crowd choose to hang out at Barry's BEFORE most games instead of feeling like they have to quietly sit on their hands all game.  Loosen 'em up a bit.

Now, don't get me wrong.  If you drink, you should drink responsibly.

Which means drink enough to get you to stand and cheer but not so much that you lose your balance, fall over on top of me and pass out.

Y'know, kind of a happy medium.  Somewhere around .07.

Then by the time you leave the PBA, your BAC should be AOK.  :P

So I just called the ticket office and luckily I still have my tickets.  The lady said that invoices would probably be sent out in September after the schedule is finalized.  So, it makes me think back to my original thought....If people decide not to pay the invoices there will be tickets opening up thus not truly causing a sellout as of yet.
