I've got a banner ad at the bottom of the page here, the one that lists the dungeon forums (fora?), that page, and it's an ad for ...

How do I exactly say this?

Ahem, an ad featuring large-breasted, good-lookin', cougar-aged women.

And the ad says something to the effect that "We don't want young guys.  We want YOU!"  (Meaning me, I guess.  :o )

Now, a couple questions pop into my mind:    <_<

First, I don't surf porn so why is this banner ad showing up on my computer, and as a banner on the Devaney Dungeon no less?;

And second, how the hell do they know I'm not a young guy?

Not sure if I shouldn't be a little bit offended by that.  That's almost like saying, "We don't want someone good looking, we want your old fat self, big guy!"  WTH is up with that?

Hell, they can keep their boobs if that's the way they're gonna be.  I'm not interested!

(And if I am interested, it's only slightly.  -_-)

(P.S.  For the sake of clarity, I should say that the ad featured no nudity.  Only cleavage.  Substantial cleavage.)

FWIW, the ads are geared towards what you're/people who use your computer are searching for/looking at.

I believe i left in "dating type" of ads as I assume that not all of our members are spoken for.

My last 3 ads have been for software, Windows 8, and the Omaha Zoo.

Also, on the right hand side of each ad is a X or mute this or change your ad preferences.

i'm sure by  now everyone knows their every move on the internet is spied on by someone. i can't use google for even two searches without the spying little sh*ts changing every single ad. So apparently you have something that gave them your age and gender at a minimum.

Gosh, I haven't got any of these "ads"....and I like naked women and cleavage!

Interesting...I didn't see the ad either...JUST Norm.  Hmmm.

In fact, my ad is for fuel.  When I click on the top right of the ad, it states:

This ad has been matched to your interests based on your browsing activity.

Rocket Fuel helped this advertiser determine that an ad like this might interest you.

So, it appears the ad that appears matches the interests of the individual browsing activity...hmmm.

So, I assume this is what's going on with twitter...

"Today, we are retiring API v1 and fully transitioning to API v1.1. Given the array of blackout tests, blog posts, Tweets and other updates, this should (hopefully) not be a surprise,"

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57589064-93/twitter-officially-axes-tweetdeck-for-android-ios-with-new-api

AH.

The solution i'm using to automagically embed tweets hasn't been updated in a while so I bet this is the issue.

Hopefully I can find something that will auto parse so we don't have to change the way we're adding tweets

I wish. No, the ad program's actually feeding me from my bookmarks, not google searches, which mean it's really ultra intrusive as its pulling data directly from my machine. I get ads for A's baseball up the wazoo, which is where I spend the bulk of my summers online.

I didn't even know there were ads at the bottom. My finger gets too tired to scroll down that far. It is showing a golf course on mine now, and I don't play golf so the spies haven't been doing their jobs very well.
