Minnesota fired Tubby Smith.  Do they have anyone that could possibly transfer?  Minnesota is about as athletic as it gets.  Maybe an athletic PF or C?  They also signed Alex Foster 6'8", 200 lbs, Power Forward from Chicago Illinois in their 2013 class.  His AAU team is Meanstreets.  Alex Foster has an offer from Nebraska.  Nebraska 2014 4-Star Forward target Paul White is also with Meanstreets.  Might not be a bad idea to get a connection to the AAU team and a connection to Chicago as well.

Alex Foster video from Rivals:

Maybe a guy like a guy like Elliott Eliason from Chadron, NE (6'11", 260 lbs, Center, RS So)

Or with Ben Howland being fired at UCLA, any chance Miles could get a transfer from there?  I wouldn't expect Nebraska to be able to get a player from UCLA, but then again, I wouldn't have really expected Miles to have been able to snag a transfer from Florida either...

This is certainly an opportune time for us to go after kids from the Minnesota area.

Yes it is. Ben Johnson is on it!

It's funny how you don't see him on twitter considering his reputation for being an online guy.

He just doesnt tweet that much but if you look at who he follows it is the kids Nebraska is attempting to recruit so my guess is he uses direct messages on there to contact these guys.  He also doesnt want much attention as you have to request to follow him unlike the other 3 that tweet much more often.

Speaking of Nebraska coaches' tweets, here's one from Ass't Coach Australian Guy:

"Early start... On the road recruiting and on a mission to make sure this time next year we're not watching NCAA Tournament on TV! #GBR"

I effin' LOVE it.  Hey, the ONLY way this makes a difference for NEXT year's NCAA tourney is if we're after someone yet for 2013.  (Besides the obvious.)

So, where is ACAG now?  Any flight reports out of Lincoln airport?  ;)  :P  :D

Its a good thing this happened this year and not last year and not 3 or 4 years from now or we wouldn't have a Tim Miles.  He thought he'd probably end up in Minn someday coaching and it was his destination job.  He and his family were very disappointed when they extended Tubby's contract and said he'd be coaching there again this year.    I hope that has changed now that he's in the B10 and only in year one.

I could see the argument with 3 to 4 years though, if WHEN Tim has the success here that we know he will, he will still be sought from bigger and better.  Now last year, I am not so sure that Minny would of pulled the trigger on Miles.  I think Minny would of looked for Shaka and some bigger and better before Miles.  Miles would of been a hotter get this year than last, so I am not so sure he would of ended up at Minnesota last year had they fired Tubbby.

I think the "on a mission" statement is code for Sai just chose the Huskers over BYU.  :)

I see why the same 6 people post here with very little insight into what's actually happening in the program.

That's a little harsh.

I would love for more people to post here and to offer their insight. It's an exciting time for the program and the more information and differing perspectives in here the better.

Just play nice.

If I would have known we had people who were actually friends with the coach's sister posting inside information about the program on the recruiting forum, I'd have been here since day one.  Forgive me for the time I've wasted......

Guys with actual insider information don't need to throw insults....they just wait for what they stated to actually happen. If you want instant credibility after six posts, you're going to need to do a lot better.

Besides, it's a message board. How many times have crackpots came out of the woodwork to post about their "inside information." Not calling 2Buck a crackpot, but you know what I mean. It takes time to build a little trust.

Well, the insult completely missed the mark, which detracts from his credibility rather than adding to it.

I should point out that Miles sister, while she is probably a terrific lady, might not know what Minnesota's intentions were last year even assuming she knew what Tim's were.  Obviously, if the Mileses were disappointed Tubby got extended, I would submit they did NOT know what Minnesota's intentions were.  (In other words, if Minnesota wanted to hire Tim last year, they woulda dumped Tubby a year ago, right?  #irrelevant #whatever.)

But then I'm not an insider.  I'm just a guy who posts here a lot.
