TheGov21 Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Anybody else notice the twitter fight going on between Rosenthal and John Gaskins? Quote
TheGov21 Posted March 16, 2013 Author Report Posted March 16, 2013 On my phone now, so can't. But it's all about Gaskins ragging on Rey all the time. Quote

colhusker Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Local sports talk host in Lincoln. Thanks, don't listen to talk radio to begin with and no longer in the homeland. Quote
uneblinstu Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 I won't call him a fool. He's still young personally and professionally. He's got a lot of life learning ahead of him and sometimes that's more apparent than others. Quote
GATA Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Not sure why the link didn't work for me either... But I'll stand up for John. He's a good guy and has a sarcastic sense of humor. Quote

Eh, I have a sarcastic sense of humor and laugh at even the most offensive of things. However, I don't find anything these tools say as humorous. Quote
Huskerone Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 I take twitter for what it is. A big'ol snark fest. Who can be snarkier than the other. From what little I've listened to Gaskins I have no doubt he is great on twitter. Rosenthal should be careful not to lower himself to Gaskins level. And don't get me started the rest of the 93.7 crew. If I wanted to hear about Creighton everyday I'd move to Omaha. Thank you Nick Bahe. Quote
BannedAccount Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Gaskins calls it as he sees it, Rosenthal has no room to talk, he would always rip on NU during games this year when they would get down big. I think he was more snarky and Gaskins was just stating his opinion on what he said. It's ok for BR to do it but not if Gaskins does? Jadler 1 Quote

The "snark" that Rosenthal gave also never called out players. Quote

uneblinstu Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 He doesn't usually go after individual players like they did, though. Quote
BannedAccount Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Gaskins isn't going after players, he's states he doesn't think Gallegos should be chucking up bad shots just to chuck when he can get the shots at any time in the shot clock. Let's face it, Gallegos was a 30% 3pt shooter and shot way too much at times. Gaskins has always said he thinks Gallegos should drive more. I agree, he's a 2 guard that shot hardly any free throws at all. It's not like he was a 40%+ shooter that you can have shoot those. And I agree with Miles Davis. Rosenthal may not have said much about a specific player but bashed the team when he could on twitter when things weren't going well which makes no sense from someone who knew and said expectations would be low. hhcdave Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 I agree (as does everyone on this board) that Ray needs to be a more complete player by demonstrating the ability to put the ball on the floor, attack the mid range/hoop and get to the line/score/penetrate. However, its easy to say "he needs to do that" right now, in middle of season, when he doesn't have near the amount of time to evolve that part of his game. That's like saying: "Almeida needs to just shoot those 18 footers when he's open." Its easy to say that and say he should but it doesn't mean he's capable or will. Quote
hhcmatt Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Not sure why the link didn't work for me either... But I'll stand up for John. He's a good guy and has a sarcastic sense of humor. Ray single-handedly kept a team in games that probably would have been the first squad Husker squad to ever lose 20 games without him. Dude played 5-10 minutes more per game that he should have because he had to. Yes, Ray took a lot of low percentage shots....because a lot of time that team needed him to do so even when teams keyed on him. How was it that he was always taking "bad shots" yet Miles never took him out? How is the guy who is ruining the team playing the most minutes in Huskers history? I've argued with both Bogus and Gaskins on their REPEATED bashings of RG on twitter before as well. I guess that makes Gallegos the Dark Knight. tcp, Row6Seat10, Daledangdarn and 1 other 4 Quote

We all need to back "our" players. Quote
