Juwan may not have played well but Sam having 3 lazy turnovers in 1st 5 minutes combined with all the others is why this game went in sewer.

Staff coached awful.  Bad gameplan and bad management.  Uhils cannot be in there anymore.  Nothing good happens ever.  More importantly, staff gave us not shot to win with this dumb ass two foul in a half horseshit.  You cannot just let Morgan sit with two fouls the whole half until the game is literally over.  It is competely idiotic and I cannot believe they are that stupid.  It honestly is so damn stupid that I would not mind replacing the staff soon.  It tells me there is no real upside with the staff if they cannot comprehend simple analytics.

Sam is best as a spark/disruptor. We need better execution from nearly all our guards

Was going to edit my post to say I don't like blaming Sam. He needs to play smart on offense and be pain in the ass on defense. psu had 6 guys in double figures. Sam is a starter and hasn't scored last 2 games.

Would also like to see how his uniform got torn? Guessing it wasn't self inflicted.

Actually,  they did bring Morgan back, and let Brice play with 2 fouls.  Brice ended up picking up his 3rd.

Same could be said for Sam tonight. It was awful performances tonight for both of those dudes.

The lineup should be Rollie, Essegian, WIlliiams, Gary, and Berke or Morgan.  Then use two bigs as needed with Meah rotating in some spots.  Hoiberg rotates  in with Rollie and Essegian.  We are playing way too many random lineups together for this point in the season.  Shrink it down and be aggressive with the two foul stuff.  Bring in someone else for a bit in second half if we need to.  At least we will have a better idea of what type of player is needed at that juncture of the game. This is not very complicated, but our staff sure makes it that way.

I don't think starting is where he helps us, but the other options have struggled too. I'm in the same boat as you, I love his energy, but he is not always playing within himself. (His Tominaga range 3 wasn't his game)

brought morgan back for about 15 seconds.  Who cares if Bryce picked up a third?  You get 5 for 40 minutes.  If you think that qualifies as "bringing Morgan back" you clearly do not understand analytics either.

Can we please look at starting Connor for some offense out of the gate too while we’re at it? Who cares if his D is rough? We’ve been in back to back 10+ point holes early because we get scored on anyways.

 That would be too simple for this staff my guy.  He did great in that role earlier in year when Berke was out.

Our defense does get more energized lately when the ball is going in.  That negates a little of it.  He also was a willing battler in second half at NW.  Obviously, we need that all the time.

I have a completely different take.  You bitch on and on about coaching--but this roster is a disaster.   Coaches deserve a freaking medal for getting 17 wins out of this group.   Understanding the problem with Uhlis, understand that Rollie was awful tonight.   He can't shoot, but he's slow, as the old saying goes.  Got absolutely exposed on defense tonight.   But I realize message board posters mainly watch offense.  Oh yeah, he sucked there also.

So, you want his 2nd half defensive effort where he lets the offensive player drive by him.  We had ZERO players play well on defense.   For a team that packs the paint, we can not allow 52 points in the paint AND wide open 3's to their best shooters.

Not sure where I discussed defensive prowess or lack thereof here.  I was talking about the analytics of sitting guys with two fouls.  You cannot sit Morgan the entire half and get down 23 before bringing him back.  Changing the subject not going to work my man.  I am not in the mood for it.  You and I both know it is stupid.

Agree with that.  Just frustrated with the glaring deficiencies of so many on our squad.   I would do exactly as you suggest with Conner's playing time.

I have not bitched on on and about coaching every game.  It is incredible what they have squeezed out of this team in general terms, especially since they make it harder than they need to.  But roster conustruction is also coaching the last I knew.   And don't accuse me of only watching offense.  I am a defense first guy.  But knowing how limited we are on offense I also understand how the court needs to be spaced.
