I think RedSteve's post was a clever and stealth pat on the backs of the coaching staff - an acknowledgement of the success of a coaching decision.  The post invites the reader to consider the possibilities of who might have devised the plan and ordered it into action ... and then to conclude that only the coaching staff could have done so. That's the way I took  it. But I am no genius.

Thanks Tom,

Yes, that's what it was. Just to stimulate thought and discussion.  Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Just a little open-mindedness.

I have been to many many NU WBB games over the years.  This one made me feel the best ever.  As previously noted I really hate to lose to Iowa even if we played them in tiddlywinks. Last fall I sat at the NU Iowa FB game freezing my butt off surrounded by rude Iowa fans and we lost when we shouldn't have.  Today At the game I was surrounded by Iowa fans with only one that was rude sitting right behind me.  I was ecstatic watching them all leave after the loss grumbling and having a long drive home to reflect on it.  GBR.

It was an epic comeback, and a bit of sweet justice for Jaz Shelley to come back for a final season in Lincoln. She had her signature moment against the nation's best. Good for her, and great for Nebraska's hope of post-season success going forward. Love that sweet Jaz!!! GBR!!!

Just had a chance to view this clip, and it appeared that an Iowa assistant coach had some harsh words or possibly a stern warning, it's too difficult to tell what exactly happened, but it seems clear she was visibly upset and talking loudly at someone nearby the video camera.... toward the end of this 3 min. clip, she had a pink undershirt on, btw. Weird exchange.

I've been enjoying all of the articles and comments about the game Saturday on social media, but WOW I have never seen so much complaining and so many excuses over a loss. I get the stakes were high, but Good Lord they have a hard time accepting defeat.

*Several players were sick

*Bluder threw the game on purpous so CC could break the record at home

*the noise during free throws

*Huskers played dirty

*Refs were one-sided (against them)

*garbage defense

The fans aren't far off on Iowa's defense though.

Listened to the post game of Bluder, Clark, and Martin. Have to say the players were far better than Bluder. Clark said they have seen the box and one in games and even practiced against it. But...they have not worked on it lately and sounds like they did not expect it from NE. So again, Bluder was out coached by Amy. Also IMHO, Bluder thought they had this up by 14 after three. After all it was reported that Bluder said PBA was their house. Never count your chickens til their hatched.

And the arguement can be made that CC got alot of questionable calls. Like the elbow to the throat of jazz and jazz is called for the foul. Or the flop she had on potts.

Oh, no doubt about that.  I was just pointing out that Nebraska did get a couple of phantom calls in crunch time for a change.

On Sports Nightly last evening, Sharpe and Coody talked about the whole press conference thing.  They made several points discrediting the bitching and whining of Blunder:

- It is typical (and a courtesy of the host) for the visiting team to meet the press first (to catch plane, etc.) but they are usually expected to be at the mic 10 minutes after the final buzzer.  They felt Iowa was not present maybe 20-25 minutes after the buzzer - wondering what the hell they were doing for so long if they had to catch a plane.

- Nebraska players showed up at the press room between 15 and 20 minutes after the buzzer.  They expected to have to wait for Iowa to finish their conference, but they were not there.  The players thought Iowa was done.  They were just standing around for a few minutes and Jeff Griesch, who also serves as woman's b-ball SID, had no idea why Iowa hadn't presented themselves, so he let the Nebraska players in front of the press, who were obviously also just waiting around the whole time.

- Iowa shows up while Nebraska players are at the podium and all heck breaks loose in the hallway with Blunder ranting and raving like the lunatic she is.

So, I think it's safe to say that there was much confusion and blame to casted on each side, but most should be placed at the trough of Iowa and Blunder for not promptly meeting the press as is protocol.

But the plane is a charter, so the need to catch a flight is bull.

Let's see you had a 14 point lead, the best player on the court and 3 time outs to stem the momentum tide.  I really wish Coach Blubber would step up and own it. aka....." I lost this game....This loss is on me ( not the refs which favor CC badly anyway, not the media, not my women and definitely not the environment which favored me until the last 40 seconds) I lost us this game.

Did you guys hear Bluder’s postgame remarks in front of the cameras? Looks like she was out in a hallway in front of a painted cinder block wall. “Nebraska’s a good team…you know, they kinda play to the level of their competition and they played really well today.”
I took that to be a subtle dig at Nebraska’s inconsistency - kinda like, “yeah, well, they may have beaten us today, but don’t forget they’re the same team that lost to Rutgers a couple weeks ago.”
And I’m sorry, but Bluder is not wrong in that instance. And it’s been that absolutely MADDENING inconsistency that has been the hallmark of Amy Williams’ coaching tenure here at Nebraska.

so many informative, insightful, and entertaining posts here.  Thanks everybody.  I have only two observations to add.  1) CC's foul on Nissley happened right in front of me. After the call she did that rolling her eyes thing like "what?? me foul, I don't foul".  Seldom will a ref have an easier call than that one - she so clearly swept across Nissley's arm.  When I watched the reply I was glad to hear the announcers call CC out on that - commenting on how obvious it was.  2) Iowa's next to last inbound - the on which Stuelke got the easy lay up - unless the ref did not signal the ball in play for quite a while after handing it to the inbounder, that was def a five second violation.  The two points that followed should never have happened.

Totally agree on both of these. I have officiated games for years, and you never get rid of that internal clock during inbounds plays. I def thought it was a 5 sec violation as well.
