Historical Game of the Week 1992-93 Kansas at Nebraska

I had a request for KU at NU from 1991-92. I've not found it in the collection yet, but you can see the most compelling highlights from that game at the top of the broadcast in this game.

 

This is the next visit by the Jayhawks to the BDSC. Enjoy

Completely never knew how ridiculously awesome Padgett was... What a stud.  Akoy Agau kind of reminds me of a less explosive, less athletic Padgett.

I remember thinking at the time Chandler wasn't that good of a post player.  Man I'd love to have a guy like that now.

Seriously?  Wasn't that good?  You couldn't shoot over DC and he had a nice jump hook on the offensive end, the bad ankle sprain his senior year really slowed him down, but that guy is the example of the JC post player need so desperately need.

 

The game wasn't on tv here, but I would love to see Badgett break the backboard at CU his junior year.  So I guess I am requesting tape on a game that tape doesn't exist for, make it so Scott

Watching Badgett at the end of the game reminds me a lot more of Tre'Shawn Thurman than Agau, I really want that kid.

If you ever seen Akoy play in a less structured situation (AAU ball), you'd know what I mean. He lives off of transition buckets where he leaves the floor near the FT line and finger rolls it in.

What do we remember here about Melvin Brooks? What kind of player was he/etc? My memories of him are very limited, for some reason. Norm? CWG? Lang? Hugh? Etc etc etc?

I know, it's hard to see it now re-watching those games.  Maybe I felt spoiled by Rich King.  I see now how much of an asset he was though.
