Nebraska's Memorial Stadium is hosting "Volleyball Day in Nebraska" on August 30, 2023: UNK vs Wayne St. at 3:30 pm followed by UNO vs UNL at 7 pm. A national recording artist concert will happen afterwards.

That was the big announcement?

Nebraska defeated both Texas and Oregon on the sand, and took one match from Washington. It's been a fairly productive season for the Big Red. Basically "cross-training" work for when they can get back on the court for the remainder of Spring Volleyball. GBR

The NCAA attendance record was set in the 2021 national championship game between Nebraska and Wisconsin in Omaha with a total of 18,755 fans in attendance.

The world record for volleyball attendance was 91,553 set in 2022 when Real Madrid took on Barcelona in Spain.

With student seats not yet tabulated and plenty of room courtside, that world record is in serious jeopardy.

The world record for volleyball attendance is 95,000 set by the Brazil men's national team in a friendly against the Soviet Union in 1983 (played in soccer stadium, it also rained during game). This will pass #2 and #3 held by Poland at 65,407 and 61,00+ (indoor).

Kind of wondered if Jordan Larson would be back with Team USA, her weird in-and-out of coaching in the past year or so certainly left open the possibility that she wasn't done playing the game she loves. Glad she found what she was looking for. And now we get to watch her compete for her country, again. It's a win-win. USA!!

Jordan Larson to return to Nebraska as an Assistant Volleyball Coach.  She will begin in September 2023 after completing her role playing for the USA National Team.

Has previously coached at Texas and Midland.

Nebraska volleyball: Husker All-American Jordan Larson has been hired as an assistant coach for the Huskers, Nebraska announces. A new rule allows teams to hire a 3rd assistant. Nebraska hired one of the best players in the world (she’ll keep playing for USA for now)

For several years, Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook occasionally mentioned that he felt like Husker icon Jordan Larson would be a good coach one day.

She’s excellent at all the skills — hitting, serving and serve-receive — and even with her superstar athlete status, she's able to make young players comfortable.

Now with a NCAA rule change for college volleyball this summer, Cook is able to bring back Larson as a coach.

Good to see that Jordan Larson is back with the Big Red. What a whirlwind that was this past year or so with J.L.

How long will she stay though?
