Let's play the CBI in the Coliseum.  Dust off the porta-court from the Qwest game and do this!

That floor was awesome.  I say we just lay it at memorial and make it an out door event.

Outdoor basketball in March, what could be better?

There's been basketball games on boats. Why not?

Miles always says we wouldn't want to be the first big ten team to go to the cbi. But with us beating Purdue yesterday, they are most likely not getting an nit bid. would we go to the cbi if Purdue also went?

yea i think its safe to say its done. they kept asking ubel and miles questions in the postgame presser about summing up the season/career etc and neither of them deferred the questions like "we'll wait and see if someone calls" etc..on the plus side, i guess we can start looking for miles on espn or somewhere else during the tournament

I'm not psyched about the idea of the CBI; I'd just as soon be done with this year.

That said, taking into account the issue of the lack of "prestige" in this tournament as it relates to a Big 10 team, would we hang the banner in the PBA if we won it?

Tough call on this.

CBI certainly isn't any thing special....then again...if we were to win it...which we could.....that'd be a helluva way to end this season considering what we thought we would be in the pre-season and just another shot of momentum in this program's arm

Purdue is now the 1st team from the B1G to compete in a lower tier post-season tournament, they'll play the co-champ from the Summit League, the Leathernecks of Western Illinois... (** Texas is also a participant in the CBI on the road at Houston **)

Do we know if we were offered a bid?  I'm not sure we were with our record.

I think that it makes a lot of sense for Purdue.  They only lose Byrd and bring everyone else back.

It would be nice for us but doesn't make nearly as much sense.  We will be bringing in a brand new team.

+1...I've always wanted to do that.

Interesting.  I could take it or leave it, but as a fan I think take it would be better.  But maybe we were not extended an invite.   Would have liked to see Talley and Ubel play another time or two.  And this season would have not been bastardizing the program by playing in this thing.
