hhcmatt Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 CBI would all be road games unless we did something like rent the CLINK. We'd probably do that for the championship Quote
uneblinstu Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 Or Pershing? Do they still have that portable court they used at the Qwest vs. Oregon that I think only got used once? Quote
Red Rum Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 How soon can we get some kind of big boat out on Holmes Lake? ESPN loves basketball on boats. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
PimpMario Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 Let's play the CBI in the Coliseum. Dust off the porta-court from the Qwest game and do this! That floor was awesome. I say we just lay it at memorial and make it an out door event. Outdoor basketball in March, what could be better? Quote

Crush78 Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Miles always says we wouldn't want to be the first big ten team to go to the cbi. But with us beating Purdue yesterday, they are most likely not getting an nit bid. would we go to the cbi if Purdue also went? Quote
hhcmatt Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 With that win over Purdue, I feel like we actually belong in the CBI if we get a bid. Quote
uneblinstu Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Is there any official word on this? Kent and Matt were talking on the post game like it's all done. Harriman tweeted this, too... https://twitter.com/chrisharriman24/status/312739711569510400 Quote
PAhusker Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 yea i think its safe to say its done. they kept asking ubel and miles questions in the postgame presser about summing up the season/career etc and neither of them deferred the questions like "we'll wait and see if someone calls" etc..on the plus side, i guess we can start looking for miles on espn or somewhere else during the tournament Quote
rwmctrofholz Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 I'm not psyched about the idea of the CBI; I'd just as soon be done with this year. That said, taking into account the issue of the lack of "prestige" in this tournament as it relates to a Big 10 team, would we hang the banner in the PBA if we won it? Quote
nustudent Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Tough call on this. CBI certainly isn't any thing special....then again...if we were to win it...which we could.....that'd be a helluva way to end this season considering what we thought we would be in the pre-season and just another shot of momentum in this program's arm Quote
Statz10 Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 FYI. Rosenthal tweet 15 minutes ago: "You've probably figured this out by now, but the official word from UNL: No #Nebrasketball postseason." Quote
49r Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 So it's official then, is that what you're saying? Quote

Jurgey Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 I see Purdue has accepted an invite to the CBI. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 ...as did Texas, with a losing record. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 ...as did Texas, with a losing record. Yes, I mentioned that the 'Horns will be playing on the road, even. UT is 16-17 and Purdue is 15-17. Quote
bison husker Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Then we should have played too.....IMO a team not .500 should not be rewarded with post season, but if other BCS teams are then we should have too. Quote
colhusker Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Would have meant a few more practices that the youngins could have used. Quote
hhcmatt Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Do we know if we were offered a bid? I'm not sure we were with our record. I think that it makes a lot of sense for Purdue. They only lose Byrd and bring everyone else back. It would be nice for us but doesn't make nearly as much sense. We will be bringing in a brand new team. Quote

royalfan Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Interesting. I could take it or leave it, but as a fan I think take it would be better. But maybe we were not extended an invite. Would have liked to see Talley and Ubel play another time or two. And this season would have not been bastardizing the program by playing in this thing. Quote
PimpMario Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 We had the same record as Purdue and beat them the last day of the season. WE both had similar RPIs. Maybe next year we will be good enough to make the CBI. Quote
