The Nebraska women's basketball team returns to Pinnacle Bank Arena to take on Wyoming in a key non-conference clash on Sunday afternoon.

Tip-off between the Huskers (8-3, 2-0 Big Ten) and Cowgirls (6-3, 0-0 Mountain West) is set for 2 p.m. (CT) in Lincoln. Live statewide television coverage will be provided by Nebraska Public Media with a video stream for subscribers of B1G+. Larry Punteney and Kara Graham will be on the television call. The game also can be heard on the Huskers Radio Network with Matt Coatney and Jeff Griesch on 107.3 FM in Lincoln and 590 AM in Omaha, the Huskers App and Huskers.com.

Nebraska opened its five-game home stand with back-to-back wins over Wisconsin (82-54) and Samford (71-46) before taking Finals Week off from competition.

The Huskers, who will be shooting for home win No. 500 in program history, are 5-0 at Pinnacle Bank Arena this season with all five wins by double digits. Nebraska has won 22 of its last 23 at PBA with 21 wins by double figures, including last year's 72-61 win over Wyoming (Dec. 22, 2021).

Anyone else holding their breath seeing Haiby in the game? Just hoping they aren’t bringing her back too soon.  But perhaps I should just shut up and trust the NU medical staff who just maybe know more than I do 😉

Didn’t watch the entire game but was very impressed with the way Maggie M could run the floor. Bourne and her on the court at the same time could be fun. Wyoming never left our shooters so penetration didn’t allow for kick outs to open threes. We didn’t win many one on one drives early which stalled the offense. This team is good but the real test is coming starting with Kansas. It will take our best performance to win that game. Hoping for a healthy squad for this run of games and that Jaz shrugs off today’s game.

Did you notice that when we pressed full court a few times very successfully we had Maggie back on defense to stop any press breaks.  Took Wyoming completely by surprise.  At present we are weak at the 3 position especially on the offensive end of the floor.  Issy at a 3 and Alexis at the 4 with Maggie at the post would really cure that.  Will be very important against the top teams in the conference.

A couple thoughts.

- nice to get the win.

- I actually didn't think we played well...yet we won by nearly 30...let that resonate for a moment.

- Do not expect the same Sam.  She will help, but she is definitely less mobile.  I personally will take what we can get.

- Maggie has a ways to go...but she is a good one.  Really good one.  Funny though, on more than one rebound, she went up and "spiked" the ball rather than grab it.

- we all of a sudden have a pretty deep and talented front line.

This was my thought to. Issie Alexis and Maggie at the same time

AND  Weidner and Jazz   Would be my starting lineup if my name was Williams.  Been my thinking for quite a while.

Maggie was everything I've thought she is. Looks like she has more in the tank. Her shot blocking seemed to be contagious. Really moves well on the court. On one series she pretty much beat everyone down the court. Really adds another dynamic to the team.

Going to take a few games for Sam to get up to speed. Saw flashes of it tonight. Markowski with another double - double. Her shot selection and movement with the ball  inside has really improved. Much more effective. Not to mention she might become the 3 queen :)

Anyone notice...Alexis is leading the B1G in rebounds

A few thoughts.

*Tonight was the worst I've seen Jaz play and also the worst Annika has shot this year and we still won by 37.

*MM is going to be pretty special the best part was free throws 5 for 5 and she didn't touch the rim.  An understanding that contact is your friend.

* Markowski is developing that Griffenesk quality of watching the game you think she's not that involved, you look up and the stats say 22 and 10.

* Sam still has that nice hesitation move on her way to the rim.  The burst of speed is not there yet but hopefully it comes back.

*  I am waiting for Weidner to figure out she's skilled and athletic enough to take over a game.

* Finally it's quite a work in progress but I just love Moriarty's game

Anybody hear anything about Dillard and Brady.  I haven't seen them at the last couple of games.

Matt mentioned he thought it looks like Brady will be out for awhile longer (he didn't mention anything about it, but must be the concussion protocols).  Not a clue on Dillard; coaching staff seem pretty mum on her (like they were with Brady most of last season).
