Not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, or just say "F" it to the whole season, but let's take a look at what's in front of us. 11 games to go, let's say with Ed you win half (optimistically) of them and finish the season around .500, do we get a Gold star by our name or a cookie? IF we shut him down, that's presuming this is an injury that WILL heal with time and rehab and I'm not sure about that. I'm afraid this is an injury that could forever linger off and on and there's nothing that can be done. I feel for the kid and wish there were some easier answers but as we all know medicine is an "inexact science".

this stretch has had to be hell on poor Ed. Not being able to help your mates as they flail against the gods of basketball in your absence.

He'll play the second he's able to. As would most of us in the same situation.

I get Handy's point.  Chronic injuries like Ed's become chronic because there's so much pressure to get players back on the floor.

Or sometimes they're just chronic. He was as healthy as he could be coming into the year and it still happened. Sometimes guys just have bad feet.

Sure, you shut him down IF he is hurt.  If he is healthy, I am confused as to why you wouldn't play him?

Eddie will be in the lineup when he's ready. No need to sit 'em while they're time to make a late push to the post-season. Beating PU & maybe knock off MSU again. Who knows, this team is right there to do something good to finish up the 2016-17 season on a high note.
