Yes the last two halves of basketball are probably the worst we have played all year (Gardner Webb excepted).   Doesn't even look like the same team we were seeing earlier.

I never thought I'd be, not just disappointed, which I can live with, but straight out embarrassed as much as I have been in the last 15 years or so with Husker sports. 

 

Lets have a huge second half and just forget about the last 20 minutes.

When 'just not making shots' is an issue over and over again, it becomes a coaching thing.

Northwestern had 25 points at half against this same Rutgers team.  They played against Rutgers about the same way we are.  They shot 26% from the floor, and 15% from 3.

 

Good news:  we are 4 - 4 from the line.

 

Let's just hope we can play the 2nd half like they did.

Don't underestimate Rutgers' motivation in this second half (and the entire game, for that matter). They know their chances at conference wins are few and far between. This is one the team and their fans have probably circled as a game they need to win — against a fragile team playing without its strongest inside presence. They're not going to wilt.
