Iowa's freshmen looked better than I expected.  Those kids can ball.  Their game against Omaha must have been their Gardner Webb.

AWESOME WIN!!!!!  We had plenty of chances to fold with the missed free throws, the crappy call where they gave Iowa the basket they tipped in after they fouled Tai, etc.  The kids were up to task every time.  So proud of our guys.

Glynn had a more efficient game than Jok

Jok  12-24 FG's 5-11 3 PT's 5-6 FT's 6 REB's 5 AST 1 TO 34 PTS

Glynn 11-18 FG's 7-8 3 PT's 5-6 FT's 3 REB's 4 AST 3 TO 3 STE 34 PTS

I think Glynn is pretty strong minded since he came off the bench.  Since the benching, he is 32-79 (40.5%) from the floor, 15-23 (65.2%) from 3, 25-31 (80.6%) from the free throw line.  He is avg. 20.8 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.5 A/TO ratio.

Gotta keep in mind that Tai is one of the best defenders in the league and Jok still got his.  Watson had a bum guarding him and did exactly what he was supposed to do in that situation.

I'm still pinching myself.  HOW did we get through that first OT!  Can't say enough about these guys' will to win.  Wow.

How did they come through the Maryland game being down double digits with 6 minutes to go?

Can someone explain to me why the refs couldn't look at a replay when they provided the basket to Iowa when Tai was fouled.  Clearly the shot should not have counted.  An why was Fran going ballistic when there was confusion about Jok having four or five fouls.  Did the stat guy say something???

No video reviews with under 2 minutes left on the clock.

Then why, a few seconds later, did they review the out of bounds play???

There are only certain things they can review.

I am not sure if that was reviewable (if the basket was on the original play or after the whiste)

the other option would have been to review it as goaltending...since the original shot didn't go in, but was touched (obviously wasn't goaltending, so they couldn't call that)

Regardless, I booed

Great win... However...Those darn free throws!!!

Oh and how many refs does it take to get a coaching staff to chill out before giving them a technical.  Maybe it's just me...But this was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen.

Anyhow...On to Sunday.
