Huskerpapa Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 Just because a team offered, doesn't necessarily mean that they have a solid opportunity at that school. KU likely has offered a number of players. KU and other blue bloods can then prioritize those offers. In this case, this young man may be option 3, 4 or 8...who knows. Bottom line, until they sign on the dotted line, we have a chance. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 Is this more proof that it's not tough to recruit to Nebraska? Quote
49r Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 Saddest part is the folks over at Phog.net are for the most part universally unenthused about potentially signing Allen... Quote
FredsSlacks Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 we're still an attractive option if he wants playing time. we have no underclassmen guards. hhcmatt 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted April 4, 2017 Report Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) I thought that Self was on the hot seat and on his way out? So how could he pick them over us, we know Tim is here for one more year at least. Edited April 4, 2017 by Silverbacked1 colhusker 1 Quote
bigFRED Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Jon Rothsteins tweet about how Kansas, Us, Xavier, and Tennessee are mainly in the mix is great news.. I see that as mostly down to us Xavier and Tennessee because as you guys said Kansas is not going to prioritize Allen at all and probably offered him to see if they could get a quick commit. And if we prioritize him more than Xavier and Tennessee and show him all the pros to coming here.. we are in good shapeSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Norm Peterson Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Big thing to me is his ability to drop bombs from long range. We need another kid on the roster who can do that. Helps a lot that he's a freshman. We need strong recruits to continue to commit, year after year. I think Nana is a strong commit even if he's not a Rivals 150 kid. I definitely think this Thomas Allen is. Would love to have him. There'd be PT right away, probably. mwm89 1 Quote

If he can make shots at a high rate and open driving lanes I say the odds are better than probably. Unless he struggles on defense, then he would get yanked. Quote

Allen could realistically start at the 2 over them. Quote

When Tai went out for a breather I rarely noticed Glynn "take over," either as a scorer or facilitator. Now who knows, he may improve leaps and bounds over the off-season and become The Guy. But I really like the thought of having two interchangeable combo guards on the floor, even if it means we give up a little size in our backcourt. Quote
49r Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 Glynn's sophomore year was infinity times better than Tai's though... ...just sayin' Quote

bigFRED Posted April 18, 2017 Report Posted April 18, 2017 I wonder if we are taking advantage of the fact that Copeland and Gill once played for an AAU team that Allen play(ed)s on? I wonder if their paths ever crossed. Quote
