Just because a team offered, doesn't necessarily mean that they have a solid opportunity at that school.  KU likely has offered a number of players.  KU and other blue bloods can then prioritize those offers.  In this case, this young man may be option 3, 4 or 8...who knows.  Bottom line, until they sign on the dotted line, we have a chance.

Jon Rothsteins tweet about how Kansas, Us, Xavier, and Tennessee are mainly in the mix is great news.. I see that as mostly down to us Xavier and Tennessee because as you guys said Kansas is not going to prioritize Allen at all and probably offered him to see if they could get a quick commit. And if we prioritize him more than Xavier and Tennessee and show him all the pros to coming here.. we are in good shape

Big thing to me is his ability to drop bombs from long range.  We need another kid on the roster who can do that.  Helps a lot that he's a freshman.  We need strong recruits to continue to commit, year after year.  I think Nana is a strong commit even if he's not a Rivals 150 kid.  I definitely think this Thomas Allen is.  Would love to have him.  There'd be PT right away, probably.

If he can make shots at a high rate and open driving lanes I say the odds are better than probably.  Unless he struggles on defense, then he would get yanked.

there's immediate playing time for sure. gill and taylor did not look like starters to me, and palmer is a mystery. Allen could realistically start at the 2 over them.

Allen could run the show while Glynn is over at the 2. Having 2 PG's on the court would be a huge plus for Nebrasketball.

I like that thought.

Glynn plays his best with another ballhandler on the court with him.  When Tai went out for a breather I rarely noticed Glynn "take over," either as a scorer or facilitator.  Now who knows, he may improve leaps and bounds over the off-season and become The Guy.  But I really like the thought of having two interchangeable combo guards on the floor, even if it means we give up a little size in our backcourt.

I wonder if we are taking advantage of the fact that Copeland and Gill once played for an AAU team that Allen play(ed)s on? I wonder if their paths ever crossed.

I think that's a factor in how NU has a legit play on Thomas Allen.
