Well, winning ugly is better than losing ugly. I don't expect them to shoot less than 30% very often, so good to get this one out of the system against a lesser opponent. Big positive is that they made free throws tonight which was pretty much the difference.4 points -

Coach Willliams teams have always had a tendency to play down to their competition.. If we play like we did tonight it will be long Big10 season. Hargrove picked up her game the 2nd half. She even drove to the basket. We are going to need a lot of those missed bunnies to win a lot of games this year.4 points -

Markowski notched her 1,500th point after making her 6th consecutive free throw. Congrats Alexis on that milestone, only the 4th Husker to reach 1,500 points & 1,000 rebounds to join Karen Jennings, Kelsey Griffin, and Jordan Hooper.4 points -

I won't make excuses on her behalf; but game action is obviously different than "shoot around" practice. In a game you get contact and/or you expect contact. It alters your touch and it can alter your release. She has great teachers at UNL and her dad played and coached college ball and has taught her the tricks of the trade. So in my humble tiny mind, it is not her shot or touch; but more so her brain is in overdrive. She is trying to think the ball into the hoop, rather than allow her training and muscle memory to complete the shot. Again, just an opinion.3 points -

Wasn't real pretty, but a win is still the outcome they're looking for. 63-50 Big Red. Britt Prince was clutch tonight.3 points -

If I were running the show, the next practice would be 90 minutes of taking shots from 3 feet and in mixed with 30 minutes of the Mikan drill. The amount of missed layups this year is mind-bottling.3 points -

It’s a W. I was impressed with Tarleton’s quickness on the perimeter and their big girl was a force inside. Not a good shooting night and other than Prince we had very little from our guards. Hargrove continues to improve which came in handy tonight. Chattanooga will be a stronger test Sunday.2 points -

If it weren't for 20 points combined from Britt and Alexis, Nebraska would be getting smoked right now. And Alexis has had to do it from the FT line, mostly.2 points -

Hargrove continues to get better with more court time. While I am sure Alexis knows what to do in the paint, you can fall into bad habits and I think that is part of her problem right now. She can be a good passer. She needs to pass back out to a guard and then reset her post position and we need to look for her again if we are not in a good spot to shoot a three. Also she is a little predictable right now (post moves) which is part of her falling into a bad habit. Nothing that can't be corrected. Watching Allison sort of takes me back to her first year. All the time away and you can see it is there she just needs more court time.1 point -
The coaches need to tell Markowski to quit trying to shoot three's!! She missed one attempted this game and is 5 for 20 for the season for .250. Last year's percentage on three's was not great either as she shot 21 for 71 or .296. She needs to find an alterative shooter before casting up a three. The offense is often too much standing around and holding the ball. Need to have better player movement with a purpose.1 point

Brock was the Lady Bears associate head coach for three memorable national championship seasons in 2019, 2012 and 2005. He also helped Baylor to the 2010 Final Four, seven Elite Eight appearances, and 23 Big 12 Conference titles (12 regular season, 11 tournament).1 point -

Overall 30% from the field, after starting 5-7 on threes they finished the game 2 for their last 15 on threes. Not great, but they were successful on 22 of 25 FTs.1 point -

I'm sure they work with Markowski taking shots around the basket all the time. She just doesn't have a good touch around the basket. I don't think you can teach touch. Her whole career has been that way. However without her we would have been in trouble and not won a lot of games .1 point -

I didn't see a tournament team last year based on Creighton, at Minnesota, at Iowa or at Maryland. It still happened though. It's a long season. I still believe in this team but we really need to defend our home court all season, do very well in Hawaii (at least 2-1 with the loss not being to a crap team), and pick up a couple more road wins than we did last year.1 point -

One of the (many) problems with Lunardi is that you never know what his bracket is supposed to be. A forecast of where everybody ends up? A picture of where they are now? A mix of the two? I prefer Torvik bracketology at this point in the season: https://www.barttorvik.com/tranketology.php It plays out the remainder of the season (based on his ratings) and then ranks the resumes. He shows us 9th out, but we're carrying the weight of the MSU loss in our ranking, which can be overcome. Right now, Torvik has us finishing 16-13 and 9-11 in the BIG, which is setting the bar pretty low.1 point -

Lunardi still has the Huskers in a decent spot given how awful we played on Satruday. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2025-march-madness-men-field-predictions He has 11 Big Ten teams making the dance. Wow. If the Huskers can finish the non con 10-1 and win 8-9 conference games, that might be enough to make the dance. Nearly every Big Ten game will be a Quad 1 or Quad 2 opportunity.1 point
