Not sure where to put this, but Mike'l is leaving USC
Silverbacked1 and 2 others reacted to Norm Peterson for a topic
I hung out on a bus in the rain with some Twin Peaks girls once. At that Nationwide Tour event they held at Champions in Omaha in 2012. There was a couple hour rain delay, they were done working their shift at the course, and didn't want to walk to their cars in the pouring rain. But by the time they reached the bus, they were already pretty drenched. That was a bus ride that didn't actually suck.3 points -

So, is Creighton trying to overcome the rep of being soft by being dirty?

Nebraska Cornhuskers (8-6) vs Michigan Wolverines (10-4) Location: Pinnicle Bank Arena Date: Thursday, Jan 9, 2014 Time: 8 pm, CST TV: ESPN2 Radio: Across the state on the IMG Husker Sports Radio Network, including KLIN (1400 AM/94.5 FM) in Lincoln, KFAB (1110 AM) in Omaha and KRVN (880 AM) in Lexington. Play-by-play: Kent Pavelka; Color: Matt Davison Kent Pavelka Tailgate Pump up Mix Michigan Info Head Coach: John Beilein Location: Ann Arbor, MI Conference: B1G 10 Nickname: Wolverines Mascots: None Last time out: Destroyed Northwestern Typical Rotation Depth: 8 players Line: Michigan by 4 Offense: Love the 3 Tempo: Slow Fun Fact: Michigan forward Glenn Robinson III is the son of former first round draft pick and Purdue forward Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson Jr. Fun Fact: 3 of Michigan's 4 losses have been to Duke, Arizona, and Iowa State who have a combined 41-3 record Possible Starters Huskers 0 Tai Webster 6-4 194 Fr 15 Ray Gallegos 6-2 182 Sr 5 Terran Petteway 6-6 209 Jr 31 Shavon Shields 6-7 219 So 21 Leslee Smith 6-8 255 Jr Wolverines 10 Derrick Walton 6-1 185 Fr 11 Nik Stauskas 6-6 205 So 23 Caris LeVert 6-6 200 So 1 Glenn Robinson 6-6 220 So 52 Jordan Morgan 6-8 250 Sr The Skinny This the game for all those turds out there who think we should play Creighton twice this year. Tim Miles touched on it somewhere, but statistically the Wolverines are a lot like the Bluejays in that their offense revolves around them shooting a ton of threes and being pretty good at it. Unless you're a 250 center in a platoon to replace Mitch McGary, the Huskers should expect you to shoot a 3. Additionally, Michigan doesn't turn the ball over much and doesn't draw much contact on either end. In their only loss to a sub 100 KenPom team, the Wolverines shot 22% from 3pt range and 38% from the 2. It might take an off shooting night for the Huskers to have a chance to win. Speaking of off shooting/scoring nights, that would describe the Huskers for the last 3 games though the road and defense of those teams played a big role. The Huskers haven't scored over 60 since Christmas and finishing around the rim has been a huge problem as layups are bouncing funny or blocked and even a could of dunks have been rejected by the rim. Michigan with their lack of blocks and contact on defense plus the home court could be just want the good people of Lincoln need besides the sub-zero temperatures to fuel their free Runza lust. Time for Petteway, Biggs, Webster, and company to attack the rim. Look for Leslie Smith to get the nod again to start as Tim Miles will try to start the game with defense as opposed to the offensive mismatch that is Walter Pitchford and trying to keep Michigan's offense out of rhythm is the name of the game here. Look for the Nebraska offense to get back on track and for this to be a close game. If Nebraska has a lead near the end of the game can they close it out? Prediction: Nebraska 70 - Michigan 67 with a 43% chance of Runzas Click here to view the article2 points

Speaking of dirty, CU resident "tough guy" Grant Gibbs went down with an apparent knee injury last night. He might need a 7th year now. #karma2 points -

That was the first thing that came to mind when I heard Mike'l say he was leaving. Please God don't let this happen. I'm probably totally off with this guess but it does make sense. I wouldn't be shocked if one of these two guys ended up being the replacement........Jason Peter or Jake Bogus It's called Doc Talk. Not sure what it's about, but assuming sports injury stuff. As soon as the Twin Peak girls come on, the radio turns in my car. I had to. All the drool from John's mouth was starting to drown me in my car.1 point

If you watch them Doc does a lot of coaching. They were talking about how their defense had gotten better this year, that can't be just an accident with Doc being there.1 point -

Fewer. Fifty percent fewer mistakes. Not less. Just sayin. (Of course, you said "up to" which means it could be less than 50% fewer mistakes.)1 point -
Well, just in case anyone really wanted to know, Greg Sharpe already asked him. Miles likes his Runzas plain, with a little ketchup.1 point

I would love to see your purse collection. Do you have a red Prada or Hilde Palladino bag? Oh, I have no fear of the purse checkers since I don't carry a bag. But, given my natural girth and the fact that I must, therefore, wear a rather large coat (one with ample inside pockets) I am able to conceal objects up to the size of a small grand piano in my parka. I was tempted to try to smuggle a nice selection of artisan cheeses, various charcuterie, and a nice bottle of cabernet, but, alas, I figured the overzealous ushers would instantly recognize such repast as not being among the items regularly offered for sale within the PBA. So, imagine my delight upon learning that RunzasTM are going to once again be available at Nebraska basketball games. I literally jumped for joy (to the extent that what I accomplish in thrusting my carcass almost imperceptibly off the ground can be described as "jumping.") I realized that you can smuggle whatever I want in, when we bring our baby to the game, we have a cover over the car seat/carrier to protect him from the cold air from the trek to PBA. While they go through the wife's credit card sized purse, they never check to see if there is even a baby under the cover. One of the games we don't bring the kids to, the baby is instead going to be a two liter of Coke, a bottle of Barcardi and a pizza... I used to sneak sandwiches into the Bob for years, only got harassed once by an usher while eating, but it was luckily the night that the short lived Subway stand opened in the SE concourse, so I said I had gotten it there, despite the non Subway wrapping.1 point

It's early in the rebuilding process. Certainly not taking longer than I expected. It's hard to fathom how anyone could have realistically expected it to happen faster. We finished last 2 out of 3 years in conference, after more than 10 years of futility. The new staff wasn't in place until April, so other than transfers, there wasn't anything out there to sign. And April is a late start in this day and age for the next class, most of whom sign in November. Unless we were going to go with a Huggins-type approach, it was going to be a long, slow climb to respectability. It's actually ahead of where I thought it would be, and I think next year we will see better results. Experience is important at this level and we didn't have any, through no fault of this staff. I'm shocked with the lack of patience expressed by many of our fans.1 point
