Saturday will be interesting. We either bounce back and keep our longest losing streak this season to 2 games. Or we meet Michigan just a the time they start to click.

Basically a game with very little upside with a win and major downside if we lose.

Lose Saturday and the wheels may really fall off.

Win Saturday and you get a week off before your next game and 13 straight days at home.

No excuses on Saturday.  Get our crowd into the game from the beginning.  We need to put this one behind us until we see them in the B1G Tournament

I continue to be perplexed by the crazy inconsistency by certain players. Look all conference at home and then on the road look like a first game freshman.

It has to be a confidence and mentality. That’s ultimately on each individual player with the help of the coaches and staff.

Michigan is feeling good with their win. Hope we catch them overconfident 😂

I felt Northwestern had a good game plan and really limited any good looks that we got in that 1st half.  we had to over work for just about anything.  If we could of kept it closer that 2nd half might have been a different story.  They definitely didn't have the same intensity in that 2nd half as they did the first.  We just have to be better with the ball and limit our turnovers.

We won the second half and had 4 players in double figures. Otherwise, I have no positive comments about last night. Winning our next two games will be crucial for the success of our season, so I'm moving on to Saturday now. Turn the page.

I really didn't like the big lineup to start the game, and then when we were switching everything, we were just inviting Buie to get going against bad matchups, and he did. Using the doubles to force the ball out of Buie's hands in the second half worked far better.

Disappointing doesn't quite describe last night, but, ultimately, we've done what we needed to do through 24 games to give ourselves a good chance going into the final month.

Just need to play far more consistently. Win 5 of these last 7, get one in the B1G tourney, and we're in. It's not going to take something crazy to get 6 more wins.

We're still mostly healthy and ready to take advantage of the softer section of our schedule. It's go time now.

I can handle losing but can't handle when the team doesn't give effort.  That is just unacceptable!!!

Williams rolling his eyes after Hoiberg told him to catch the ball with two hands is not a good symptom

I listened to a bit of Big 10 radio on Sirius on the way to work this morning.  The guys on the show agreed that Nebraska has to win all the remaining home games and more importantly at least one game on the road to make the dance.  Said the only way we are going to get it done.

I tend to agree. Look at our reaction when we lose a tough game in the road. Now imagine it if we lose our remaining 3 road games, Indiana and Ohio State won’t be give me’s and who knows w Michigan…

We need to get a road game somehow, mostly because it's mental block.

Really liked how we played down the stretch and by closing he gap to 12 matters, in that it doesn't look as bad as it was when we where down by 19.

Honestly, when we got it to 10/9 I would have been OK with just holding onto that as the final.

Once again the league is just allowing KT to mauled.

Our issues with the offensive boards are not new, but rather have been the one constant during the HCFH era.

Early during the season we looked good but have slowly digressed as the season as progressed.

Is this guy holding us back or what's everyone think...???  Its been bugging me all year.  There was a couple time last night where he had a chance to grab a loose ball and just didnt show any effort.  Then I look at box score and he has the most minutes on team and had 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Is it just that he is that talented and can over come these lapses in effort and attitude.  He is probably the most frustrating player to watch in recent years..

I think Brice is very talented. I liken his game to a poor man’s Andrew White. Maybe a bit quicker but not as great of a shooter. Brice has a nice mid range jump shot that can be very effective when he’s guarded by smaller guards. Defensively, he lacks the quickness to guard opposing guards, and even some wings. I think the thing that drives me and probably a lot of us diehards crazy at times are the mental lapses. Like dribbling off his leg going down the court. Or the top of the key, telegraphed, lazy passes. Or not appearing to go all out after a loose ball. Those drive me crazy. Last night he had a nice box out and rebound. He had a great fadeaway turnaround jumper. He is capable of really, really helping us. But I think he’s adjusting to a different role and sometimes playing out of his natural position. I’m tough on him but I really want to see him engaged and back with a killer’s mentality. Also, some people just have a demeanor to them that just naturally shows laidback, chill, aloof, etc… That may be part of it as well. I’m rooting for him, and all Huskers, to be able to be consistent.

Couple of random thoughts this morning…

    1.  I thought J Laws stat line and overall hustle/demeanor were good last night considering the different starting lineup.  I think he’s earned that starting spot back… partly because we’ve got to move away from the starting lineup we rolled out last night.

    2. The starting lineup was a good idea in theory, but we had no one athletic enough to stay with Boo on switches.  We also didn’t attack the glass much considering the big lineup we rolled out.  I’m ok with starting Juwan and JLaw again.

    3. The press… how much of that success was due to NW being in coast mode?  Not for sure.  What I do know is that this team likes to play fast and it seems to really give them a boost.  Wouldn’t mind starting the game regular and then when we bring in Sam and Jo off the bench, moving to the press for a bit.  Especially in games where we have slow starts like last night.

It is puzzling. Brice is incredibly frustrating to watch play, but this team is not better when he's on the bench.

On the other hand, while he puts up good numbers, you have to wonder if this team would be better off with a David Rivers type in his spot - a guy who is not potent offensively, but plays mistake-free basketball with elite defense and constant hustle.

If Brice holds this team back I don't think it's because of his play. It's the way he interacts with his teammates. It's more than just a laid back personality. It's been clear all year that he doesn't care for Keisei (not abnormal for 18-22 year olds on the same team to not get along, but it is abnormal for it to be so obvious between the lines). He'll throw his hands up in disgust when a teammate makes a silly turnover or doesn't grab a rebound, yet he's probably the biggest culprit in both of those areas. Something just isn't clicking with him on this team.
