WBB: Game #18 @ Illinois

see illinois beat rutgers pretty soundly, BUT, rutgers shot 1-15 from the perimeter and shot 26% from the field. one of those games. i expect huskers to keep up the good defense and hope they can make this a close game. ending with a 'w'--------------or better yet, just runaway with it!!! 

Watched part of one of their games a week or so ago.... they have improved a bit over last year.....but are young now after all the player turn over. But their freshmen play hard and pretty aggressive.

Not very big, so play more of a guard dominated offense. Their similar to us.....young, but we'll have size advantage. Wittinger is the one to stop.

We play there....it's probably a toss up game......we're slowly improving and cleaning up some problems as we go along.

Same old story.....If our guards can score...it will open up the inside.

I like the Huskers in this one.

You are right on!  

I want to comment on the photo at the top of this thread.  If you notice, Woody is already being fouled by the Rutger's player.  Right after this the Rutger's play absolutely floored Woody within 5 feet of the blond ref.   She stared at them, swallowed her whistle and blithely trotted up the floor to a chorus of nasty comments for the fans on that side of the arena.  If a ref cannot see that as a foul, I don't know what they see.

When the dust cleared the Rutgers player had actually landed on top of her.

One of the few jobs you can do poorly at and still keep your job. Doesn't appear to be much accountability. The inconstancy of the calls would also make it very hard to play the game. Some of the officials we see have done final fours but that does say much.

It never fails every season so it seems, whenever the Huskers go on the road they have to face a promotion that gets the fans into the game free of charge.

It's because they have sucked so long they gotta to do something.

Just watched the end of Rutgers - Mich St,.... and Rutgers won 62-58. Mich St was 13-4. Game was at Rutgers. Rutger's big girl (Parker ?) just killed Mich. St. late in the game. 18-4 run the 4th qtr.

It continues to amaze me how much difference home games make in the B1G.

There was one offensive charge call on Rutgers, with a little more than 1 min to go,  that was absolutely called wrong (refs).....but Rutger won anyway.

Time for our big girls down under to step up and give us a monster game today both in scoring and rebounding!

With teams all focused on stopping Jess we need to see more scoring from Allie.  She is a senior with 4 years experience.       

Also need to make higher percentage passes a priority.

7-6 Huskers after the 1st time out. Huskers have put up 4 air balls so far. 

Hannah Whitish on fire 3 for 3 behind the arc!

Huskers lead 17 - 15 the after 1st quarter. 

Good 1st qtr.  Defense is pretty good, the zone works real good...almost need to use it more. Stop the dribble drive to basket.

Our ball awareness is vastly improved...we're getting steals.

Need to hit some more close baskets. There were a few just throw it up and see what happens.

I agree that was a poor move That rotation combination was not going to get much scoring or defense sub one or two not 4

And we do not defend the 3, do not make good passes, turn the ball over, have no offensive rhythm, cannot rebound.  Other than that, not bad
