Terran is still on the Team!   :)

Hawks waive training camp invitees Edgar Sosa and Arsalan Kazemi on Saturday.

The roster moves leaves Lamar Patterson, Terran Petteway, Earl Barron and DeQuan Jones in competition for the final roster spot.

25% chance to play in the NBA? The odds just keep getting better and better! Go earn that spot, Petteway!

I personally believe he has a much greater chance to play NBA ball.  Even IF he does not make a roster this season, he will get there.  He is making a dent...and other GM's will notice.

May be on the outside looking in.  Looks like he registered 3 minutes on Wednesday and was a DNP tonight.

Haven't ever really tracked a guy on an NBA roster bubble before but I'm guessing the lack of minutes cannot be a good thing.

Bummer! Well . . .watch for news of the next round of roster cuts - probably within a few days.

Patterson didn't get any minutes in their last game either FWIW

I'm not really in the know for how this works either but maybe both Petteway and Patterson not playing means the Hawks are decided on how they will proceed with those two and are giving themselves a chance to evaluate everything else that they have.

Have they cut the 7'2" dude yet? That is who I would worry the most about.

The guy who had been wearing #5 (Kazemi) was waived, so if TP makes the squad it would seem that good ol' #5 might be available for @TP_5.

Thanks and not playing the last two games doesn't seem to be good news.

I think the writing is probably on the wall.  Tough situation for him, but it's not exactly a shocking revelation (when removing the red colored glasses) that this was the likely outcome after declaring and not getting drafted.

I wonder if he will try to work his way through the D-League to pursue the NBA dream, or take the money overseas?

Might depend on how much he needs $. It's pretty tough to live on D-League salary.

I don't think we can conclude that Petteway won't make the team just because he was a DNP last night. The Hawks still have 18 guys right now. Last night, 10 saw the floor and 8 were DNPs. So, other players who were DNPs are already going to be on the Hawks final roster. At this point in the preseason, teams are working on what their actual game rotations are going to be. I wouldn't read into it as TP definitely not making the squad. I don't think NBA GMs are going to base roster decisions off of little 2 minute of less chunks of time in preseason games anyway. It's not like they're going to use that as their tryout. With Petteway being with the team over the summer, they've seen what they wanted to see. Workouts, practice, attitude, work ethic, summer league game performances, etc. The Hawks probably already know what they want to do. Petteway may not make the team, but I don't think it can be assumed just based on the fact that he was a DNP (along with every other fringe guy trying to maken the last roster spot) last night.

But when you're one game away from closing out the pre-season and your stats are:

                               AVG MIN    FGM-A    3PM-A    FTM-A    +/-    PTS

        T. Petteway     7:09           2-2          1-1         0-0        +14      5

... and he only saw minutes in 3 of 6 games (he hasn't played the last 3 games), then it's hard to convince me that he'll make the team.

It's more about who he's competing against for a spot, and that's Lamar Patterson.

Patterson has played in 5 of 6 games so it would seem that he has the advantage for the final spot.

Yep. I keep hearing news about Patterson snagging that spot and day-by-day it's looking more and more likely at this point.

Here is some information on the matter:

Petteway . . . will become an unrestricted free agent. The guard/forward appeared in three exhibition games. He scored a total of five points, making both his field goal attempts including a 3-pointer. He also had four assists, a steal and a rebound in a total of 21:29. He has not played in the past three exhibition games as he was dealing with a right ankle
