Norm, the more I see of Fuller the more excited I become. He does everything in that video. Beautiful release on the threes, strong drives to the basket, pinpoint passes and flushed one with ease as well. Love this kid and can't wait until he arrives!

Wish we could find more Olympic video on Webster. It has to be somewhere! Would love to see games against Brazil and Greece.

I looked up Rob Loe on the St Louis roster. He is a 6'11", 245 lb junior averaging 23 minutes per game generating 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds. He has the 6th highest minute total on the team.

I think a lot more was expected out of him. He was selected to Nike Elitle World 19-U team before attending SLU. They take the top 11 players in the country not under contract with a club. Those teams have averaged a few NBA draft picks per year recently off of those teams so they pick talent but we all know that sometimes talent doesnt always translate.

Here are a few articles regarding Tai Webster's play on New Zealand's National team. I'm not sure I got them in order but found the reading interesting. There are box scores at the bottom of the game articles.

Read the last one. Lead the team against Angola with 21 points in 24 minutes of play. 5/6 three pointers and only one turnover. Very good game for Tai.

Yep. Like I said, maybe one of the best highlight vids for any Husker recruit I can remember.

One thing about all three of these guard recruits is that every single one of them is a capable shooter.

Now, 21 years ago, we brought in a class of recruits that had 3 guards who were each capable scorers. To that, we added a juco power forward who was sort of the Homer Simpson of the basketball world (fat, kinda lazy). One of the guards transferred after 1 season and became All Big 10 for Iowa. Two of those players panned out, though, and still are among the all-time career scoring leaders in Husker history.

I think this class has the potential to be as good and maybe even better.

I think we're going to have a squad next year. We do need a bruiser, but these two kids (Hawkins, Fuller) are pretty damned skilled. I love how Fuller finishes. That's a rare gift. These dudes will really stretch the floor. Love it. Things are really shaping up.

Y'know, as I recall, Aleks Maric came on the recruiting scene very late in the process. No one knew about him and then, all of a sudden, there he was. And there we were. And there wasn't enough time for anyone else to get involved with him. IIRC, we signed Aleks in the spring and no one really knew of him much before that. How nice it would be to catch lightning in a bottle again because I think you're right. We really do need a bruiser.

I don't think he's a bruiser but do have a potential coming for a visit in January. Food for thought but can you image if we had landed Gessell last year and Agau as well for next year. If we had be able to include Agau, we would have had a class with two 4-star players and two 3-star players. Throw Gessell in the mix and you are knocking on the door of our first NCAA tournament win in the very near future. Oh to dream.......

Thing is I think we are knocking on the door for our first win without those two. With those two, we are talking wins as in plural as in more than one... oh the dream there!

Highlight videos often give a false sense of how good or bad a player is. They only highlight the great(est) moments that the player has and doesn't look at their decision-making when they're at their worst. That said, it can help show what a players potential can be. And considering the mass quantity of great plays these kids have made in those videos, that can speak volumes in and of itself.

Norm & Others,

Fuller obviously has WAY MORE potential, but with his haircut and the left handed stroke, does he not remind you of Troy Piatkowski? That stroke from downtown is identical.
