Even more of a reason to get back in.

These next 6 games are big for NU.  5 of them are at home and we have some tough games at home as well and the 1 road game is @FSU.  Even though FSU is struggling they will still have athletes and if we play like we did @URI we won't win that game.

Heck, you could say next 7 games (the Hawaii game).  On paper we have a shot to win them all and we would have some quality wins during that stretch too (Cincy, Creighton, FSU).  Hopefully we get on a nice streak starting tonight and get some mojo going.

Then if you do beat Hawaii you more than likely get a shot at a top 10 team in WSU.

Here's to hoping we get on a winning streak starting tonight!

We haven't looked like a Top 25 team all year.  I think there are players on this team who are going with Hype over Heart instead of the other way around.  Hopefully that will change as the season goes on and these players realize you can't sleepwalk through games now.  I hope the Rhode Island lose will be a good thing for this team long term.

It's very early. Neither NU or CU have hit their respective strides yet. I think both will be bouncing in and out of top 25 for a while. Good signs for both programs. Both teams being top 50 helps the equation for latter in the year and gives the rivalry some meaningful and needed bite.

I don't really care about the rankings.  Win and it will take care of itself.

I still profess that there shouldn't be pre-season rankings... the first rankings shouldn't be released until at least a few weeks into the season.

Heard the commentators on one of the games last night mention that there is talk of the NCAA tournament selection committee setting up an in-season bracket, similar to the College Football Playoff poll, they say it would generate lots of excitement.

I think it  might.

I have to disagree.  The value of being ranked is you get national exposure with ESPN scrolling top 25 scores on bottom of screen or nation media always reporting top 25 scores and information.  I agree that the ranking don't really mean anything as its just some people's perception but it does help keep your program in the national spotlight which can help with recruiting.
