The day after tomorrow ... Signing day.

It seems somewhat unusual to go into a signing day without really wondering who all will be signing LOIs for us. 

 

Remember a few years ago when they announced the signing of the class that included Christian Standhardinger, and literally no one on the board had ever heard of him before? 

 

Seems like there was always an uncommitted spot, a last-second commit that we hadn't been following or something.

 

This year it's like 3 spots, 3 commits, and just waiting on the fax to crank out 3 signed LOIs.

 

For a class that has as much star power as this one has, it's a surprisingly relaxed lead-up without the usual anticipation, anxiousness and wonder.

 

I kinda like it this way.

Yeah, Doc was a sly fox who kept his recruiting coups under wraps... Miles & Co. are making slow & steady progress in building a complete roster. It's refreshing as a Nebrasketball fan that the Huskers are in it to win it.

One of the more exciting aspects of this day is finally getting to hear what the head coach says about the new recruits. Why they recruited them and what they're expecting from them once they get here.

Smoother for the fans, but the coaches are likely still stressed to the max.  I also think that Coach Miles is still not close to satisfied.  I imagine any coach believes they can do better, that is their nature.  But that said, yes, it is very nice to know that we have a heck of a class coming in.

I will not relax until Brian Rosenthal tweets it. Then and only then will I be able to breathe freely.

I think going forward, unless we get in with "The Big Dogs," wont have any last minute signing day commits.  Most will be wrapped up early with one of two possible for the second signing day or transfers that just come in whenever.

I am so frickin stoked you guys have no idea.  I'm just having a hard time with how to describe it.  This.  Look over on the women's board and it's just as good if not better.  This is a banner day for Nebraska basketball.  Guys and gals.

This is truly a phenomenal class for us. Who could have seen this coming together this quickly when Miles was hired? I still think Jacobsen is an underrated prospect; I suspect he'll be a Ubel type with a better three point shot. The other three (I'm including AW III) are stud prospects who hopefully buy into what Miles is selling when they get on campus. It seems like Miles really does his homework when evaluating these kids so hopefully work ethic and character won't be an issue.
