HuskerFever Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Just another random/unrelated poll to pass the time. To premise this poll, which fan is worse? 1) Creighton fans. More specifically, the ones who hate any form of success Nebraska has. The ones who think the Big East is the most elite conference and believe Creighton is a Final Four team every year (forgetting how terrible they've been sans the last decade). 2) Nebraska basketball bandwagoners. Specifically, the ones who are hardcore Husker Football fans and for their entire life completely neglected Husker Hoops. The ones who, with any signs of success, end up jumping on-board and, when challenged, claim they've been a Husker Hoops fan their entire lives. Quote
nuled2dance Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Could care less about 1. #2 is frustrating. If w lose tonight will this board become a meltdown, immature and loser filled board tonight. Team is playing excellent an win/lose no new to have a meltdown. Hope we keep winning so the #2's will stick around! Quote
Handy Johnson Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Not to go on a tired old rant, but nothing is more insufferable than Creighton fans. They believe they are on a parallel footing with Notre Dame because of the their Jesuit ties, and an elite basketball program because they had success in a League that is marginal at best. Most people in even nearby states, don't know where Creighton is. The truth hurts... Quote

KZRider Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 We WANT more NU fans and at some point they have to jump on. I say welcome aboard! What will be frustrating are the bandwagon fans who leap off at the first sign of inevitable struggle. hhcmatt and a0t0w0 2 Quote

Dean Smith Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 My son last Sunday, "Hey dad let's go to the Nebraska game." "No tickets" "We can just walk up" "Not any more. Nebraska is winning and tickets are now hard to get" "That's not fair. Anyone that watched Maryland-Eastern-Baltimore-Coast-State or whoever beat Nebraska in person should be able to get tickets to any game they want to go to." Quote

Red Rum Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Part of me wanted to go with the bandwagon jumpers but then I remembered this commercial: http://youtu.be/0X8iuI6dCjY I want everyone to pull for the Mighty Ospreys, er, Huskers. So ya, eat it Creighton fans. Silverbacked1 and hhcmatt 2 Quote

Just curious. Until recently our biggest days were the last two Creighton games. I would assume that would have something to do with their fans coming here as well. We've passed that multiple times in the last couple of weeks. a0t0w0 1 Quote
GoBigRed Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Creighton fans, and it's not close, and for posts like this: "Many Husker fans are so oblivious to basketball. They think the same programs that are good in football are good in basketball. For instance, they are probably of the belief that Auburn is a superior basketball team to say a Providence. Or that their loss to Penn State is not a bad loss because, well, it's Penn State!! They're historically good in football! No Husker Mike, Penn State is atrocious." They just think they are so damn smart and that we are so damn stupid. Quote
Concrete Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 People who dislike "bandwagon Nebrasketball fans" are nearly as pompous as Creighton fans. Is the meltdown when we lose going to be annoying? Yes. But you can't ask for something to be successful and then get annoyed when people outside of your circle enjoy the success too. That logic makes no sense. It's like soccer fans in America that say they want soccer to become incredibly popular in this country, but then bash any new fans that pop up/would add to it's popularity. Umm ok? What? Quote

Agree with your comments. My statement of bandwagoners was tailored more to the 'extreme bandwagoners' who jump on board to something popular just because it's popular, and then go around claiming they've been loyal the entire time, referring back to games they say they've attended even though they weren't born yet. Not many I suspect. There certainly are a few fans of both programs who'll support both, and some "Jayskers" might switch back. The majority won't as long as Creighton basketball continues to enjoy the success they had in recent years; they've built their fan base up, and it won't disappear that fast. But still..." Quote
