If Iowa loses on Thursday, we will see.

I actually think Nebraska ooc rpi is higher....

Iowa had more games against rpi 150 and above.

 

Iowa season : sos 23 RPI 33

Nebraska season: sos 44 RPI 50

They are in. Their OOC SOS rpi etc is too much. They are limping in but they will still be in the dance.

I don't get it. They might be in but definitely not a 6 or 7 seed. Complete meltdown down the stretch. 4-6 in their last 10 games.

Does it make a difference if you've been considered in and a lock the whole time but bellyflop down the stretch versus needing to come from behind like us? I mean, we end up with 'similar' resumes but got there in opposite manners. It just seems like we are fighting and clawing for every last bit of resume building material left in our season and one slip up and it's sorry, better luck next year. On the other side you have Iowa, atrocious Iowa losing every game and looking terrible. But the entire time it's like, they're in, yep in, no doubt about it, not even close, shoe in, lock, definitely in no matter what. What gives? Why is this the case?

Not saying SOS means nothing, it means something. But just like you've stated, SOS can keep your RPI down without winning a lot of games. SOS carries weight, but at some point you've got to win some games against quality competition to prove yourself tournament worthy.

I think you're exactly right, and it sucks. We are punished more NOW for a loss in November to UAB (who is 3-1 against the Top 50 by the way) than Iowa is for losing 5 of 6. It's like nobody really cares how bad they are right now. If you compare their resume to ours as of right now, they should be about 1 seed line above us, maybe even level.

I just feel like Iowa should be worried about whether or not they will get in just like we are. Instead, it's a foregone conclusion that they are safely in with nothing to worry about.

I agree in that Iowa should be maybe 1 line above us, 2 at the very most but I have a hard time seeing them as 2 full lines above us.

Our supposedly bad uab loss actually had a respectable season and beat north Carolina

 

It helps that NC is winning but that's also a bad loss for NC as well.
